La primera interpretación que oí de niño de esta gran sonata: con Gulda. La mejor de Beethoven. Esta grabada en mi memoria. Después vinieron Richter, Arrau y Baremboim. Un placer oir a Gulda, gran intérprete de esta mejor y grandiosa sonata de Beethoven, desde mis años primeros.

This is by far my favorite interpretation of Beethoven's op. 111. Gulda's take on the 3rd variation of the 2nd movement is unsurpassed in my opinion.

Gulda ist einer der besten Beethoven-Interpreten. In dieser letzten Beethoven-Sonate ziehe ich allerdings die äusserst gelungene Einspielung Solomons (Cutner) vor - vor allem die Einführung sucht ihresgleichen!
