Very nice. It looks like your passion is for the same kind of work that I’ve just finished building my studio for. I’m definitely jealous of the beard on your subject. Looks great.

Hey Steve, thanks mate. A lot I think is trial and error. Knowing these things help us get the shot quicker. That way we look better in front of waiting models 🤟

Fantastic video and great tips. Really enjoying working my way though your channel. Can I ask where do the majority of your clients come from or who your target audience is? It's very hard finding this info out from photographers like yourself, as someone who want's to pursue dramatic/ cinematic photography, all the advice I get is to stick to the main stream baby and weddings. But it's not where my heart lies.

Hi Gareth 👋 thanks for your words of encouragement, I appreciate you. If you're talking models then I use friends or, people who know people and not models. As for my target audience that's a bit different. In an attempt to draw viewers and subscribers I'll include studio stuff, tips and how to's and lighting stuff. I also include set builds etc. I try and cover some photography but mostly it's aimed at creatives in any field. My goal is to make myself and my processes ie using recycled materials and craft materials visible to art collectors, galleries and continue my aim of exhibition works. I have a day job that helps pay rent on studio and Gez who you'll see in videos that helps with all of this. 👍

I'm very happy to help and give any advice. Me personally? I'd never do mainstream work because it's not me or my style and I'd get found out for not putting my heart into it. Stick to what you'd love to do if financially possible.

Thanks Ian for the brilliant reply, sorry it’s taken me a while to read it, been off KZbin for a week or so, but going to dive into some more of your videos today. Can I ask what kind of galleries are exhibiting your work? I’ve found lots don’t accept photography because they don’t class it as an art form and only want paintings and sculptures. I really need to get a theme or a project underway I think so I have some consistency in a body of work.
@IanMunroArt3 жыл бұрын
Hi buddy, I've exhibited for flux London and at the Kelby One gallery in Florida. Anything else has been my own displays. It's really hard to get accepted tbh as an art form and there's a lot of snobbery with it. Its a pain in the ass 🤣🤣🤣
