I really wish you'd wax the inside of your mold and then use a lower viscosity cement. It would imprint the shape more accurately.

Way too much work and very slow progress, he is an incredibly skilled person but I wonder if it's ultimately cost effective. I mean cost of materials VS prebuilt...

Good luck finding prebuilt in all of these very specific designs. If you are making them for personal use for a private job it is 100% worth it. Once you have the mould made it is a reasonable speed for small batches. If you need to make 2,000 of them than you maybe need to make more moulds and get some friends to help.
