On my 2nd tour in Vietnam, one day I wasn't flying so I headed out to the helicopter to do some maintenance when I hear Wabash Cannonball playing from the hanger. Thinking it was awful loud, I walked into the hanger just as Roy and his band started playing" The great specked bird". Really made my day!

I learnt about Roy in 2020 and ever since I've been following his footsteps. He's the best voice and talent ever in country music ❤

My family took a trip to Nashville in the 1970s, and I got to see Roy at the Opry. I had no idea at the time what a great memory that would be.

If you listen carefully, it's "Great Speckle Bird" - people always 'correct' the grammar, but the song doesn't really need that kind of help.

Roy Acuff is singing about the Lord Jesus Christ his name record in his book and 1 Thess 4:13-18 he is blood washed and they are the church of the Lord Jesus Christ first resurrection before tribulations begins then at the end before battle of armegddgo he is first and last those that did not take the mark of the beast or worship him they were hunted by anti Christ they lived in caves without food or water God will feed them Rev 20: 4 second resurrection just before he sets up his kingdom here on earth the kingdom of God is in the heart his thousand year reign will be Ish 9:6-7 in Jerusalem as King

All the other birds are flocking 'round her And she is despised by the squad But the great speckled bird in the Bible Is one with the great church of God. All the other churches are against her They envy her glory and fame They hate her because she is chosen And has not denied Jesus' name. Desiring to lower her standard They watch every move that she makes They long to find fault with her teachings But really they find no mistake.
