This is the second part of Great Saint Bernard Pass video. Starting from Great St Bernard Lake which is located at a height of 2,447m above sea level on Swiss-Italian border and goes down.
If you want to ride this road with little to no traffic be sure to aim for 5-6 PM.
☕️ At the starting point of the route: there are several restaurants and cafes, as well as a museum Grand-Saint-Bernard Hospice Museum breeding establishment of the famous dogs in the place from which they originate.
🦮 The presence of the dogs in the place that gave the breed its name is firmly rooted in the Barry Foundation’s mission. At the pass, you can tour the kennels and witness the different forms of care given to the St. Bernards every day. The visit continues with the Museum of the Hospice of the Great Saint Bernard Pass, where the history of the pass, from ancient cults to modern-day hospitality, comes to life.
The Museum of the Hospice of the Great Saint Bernard Pass is open during the summer, depending on when the road opens, every day from 10am to 6pm (last entry at 5:30pm).
In July and August, you can also enjoy the unique experience of hiking with the St. Bernards in the area surrounding the Hospice.
Great St Bernard Lake (French: Lac du Grand St-Bernard, Italian: Lago del Gran San Bernardo) is a mountain lake of the Pennine Alps, located south-west of Great St Bernard Pass. It is divided between Switzerland (canton of Valais) and Italy (region of Aosta Valley)
