I own this piece. Picked it up for about $60 USD about 6 years ago. Invicta is what got me started in watch collecting. Awesome starter watch for the newbies.

Seems to be a common trend and a similar story amongst us. I can't exactly recall who the influencer(s) were that were pedaling these as great entry-level watches at the time, but it seems quite a few of us got hit with the bug because of it.

This is honestly a great watch. I have the Rolex equivalent “blusey” and wear it occasionally. But the value in the 8928ob is incredible. Whatever shortfalls it may have are totally outweighed by the low cost.

First watch for me too. Good casual, "blingy" watch for summer even with the silver/gold bracelet. I've even gotten used to the purple dial (mine looks more purple than yours does on camera at least) which surprised me a little when I first got it. Even compared to the many other "better" divers in my collection it still gets wrist time because of its nice shape and proportions, overall appearance and high build quality. I also like that it's automatic, reliable, 200m water resistant and under $100. Definitely a keeper. EDIT: it was the Amazon reviews that really sold it for me; simple, unpretentious appreciation for classic looks and the value it offers for the price.

I had a feeling I wouldn't be the only one who this watch kicked off the hobby for. Indeed, mine looks a bit more purple in real life than on camera, it is a minor gripe I have. Good know of its origin, and that you investigated it through Amazon reviews. Appreciate the watch & comment!

Most people have never dived and will never dive. Even those who can afford a Rolex Submariner won't put it in the water. With the invicta watch we don't have this problem: it's beautiful, affordable and supports diving up to 300 meters. 🌟

There is one more gem from them. 0420 model is best one. It is full titanium case and bracelet and i own it and it's my daily watch and soo light and it's matte finish so it isn't flashy. Full titanium for 140 is God tier

Why on earth would any horologist choose a mechanical watch ? The most important feature of a watch should be its ability to keep time. Invicta will never be #1....Choose Casio and make more money

Everybody has different tastes, of course. Some love the 'heart and soul' of a mechanical movement, regardless of accuracy.
