Pavarotti was very ill with cancer at this time but he managed to give a great performance. People knew he was terminally ill and gave him a stand up greeting.

This was filmed in 2004. Pavarotti only found out about his illness in 2006.

@merrilynhunt7819, I will contradict your statement, Pavarotti was thinking about the farewell tour at that time, in no way did he know that he was ill, he found out in 2006, while this performance took place in 2004

BELLISSIMO ! Grazie Fil for offering us such HQ music. This mix between opera and pop, the combination of the voices and even the beauty of the meaning of the song, everything is wonderful. An emotional memory of the GREAT Pavarotti. The Italian is one of the most beautiful languages to sing...and yes, just as you say, both Portuguese and Spanish, as well as natives of South America, Italians and even many French words, WE UNDERSTAND each other. The cradle of our language is the Roman civilization, we are Latin. A grateful hug for you from Argentina.

Pavarotti is by far the greatest-the GOAT- tenor ever lived, and you put Zucchero as the headliner?!?? Riiiiiight
@Tomtom-ep1yt Жыл бұрын
Perhaps because this is Zucchero's song and Zucchero wrote it? Pavarotti only feated it as well as Andrea Bocelli.

In Italy more than 30 languages are spoken, people in Venezia speak in Venetian Language, people in Roma in Romanesco, people in Napoli in Neapolitan language etc... this plus a dozen of linguistic minorities (for example Jannik Sinner is a native German speaker). Italian language was born 4/500 years ago to have a language to use in all the peninsula, but the people didn't speak it until 70/80 years ago, and a lot of people continue to speak in their local language. Those languages are not dialect of Italian, they're proper languages derived directly from Latin. Fun fact: Zucchero wrote this song especially for Pavarotti, but Pavarotti refused to sing it. So Zucchero had a demo recorded sung by Bocelli with the sole purpose of making Pavarotti listen to it and convincing him to sing. Pavarotti accepted. The maestro recorded the song sitting on the sofa in his living room.

He says: I am so miserable, a miserable person, but I still cheers to life, please have mercy, then Zucchero sings: but what a mystery life is, I am a sinner and a show-off, but why do I do this, I follow the soul of today's world, lost in depth. Then Pavarotti again: I am so miserable, a miserable person, but I still cheers to life, please have mercy...... Pavarotti died not long after. But to see that the song touches you so much tells me that you are a good person. Aren't we all "sinners or feel miserables sometimes"? Nevertheless we cheers to life. Btw, hear Fabrizio de Andre and fiume sand creek if you have time, not for react channel, but to see if it touches you too
