I eat steel cut oatmeal 5 days a week for breakfast. I sweetened it with raising and apples. I do a protein smootie for lunch and add fruits(blueberries, strawberries, avocados), chia seeds, 1/4 cup rolled oats, and Kale to my Vega and Greens chocolate Protein powder. Flaxseeds causes me acid reflux. With adding the oatmeal and smootie my LDL cholesterol finally went under 100. I also make oatmeal cookies using sprouted, organic rolled oats but will make with regular rolled oats when I can't find my preferred.

One aspect missing from this bief YT is controversy about oatmeal around how much it can spike your BG. Instant oats and old fashioned large oats have a GI of about 83 which is quite high, whereas steel cut oats is around 53. But this does not take the effects of high fibre into account. Like the old saying, "It's not what you do, it's how you do it". So mitigation for the higher GI would be to use steel cut oats which I have in my protein shakes (with fruit and natural high-protein yoghurt).
