I was just thinking well done Swift, at last a Motorhome for the tall guy. All that lovely headroom in the lounge and kitchen, nice high lockers too. Even the shower looked good and a decent height to the toilet, I was well chuffed. So why doesn't the length of the beds match this lovely headroom, what a shame. Thank you for the time you put into your videos and for sharing.

If you want long beds then it's usually the German 'vans that work best. Some Hobby models are particularly good in that regard. Glad you enjoy our videos.

Yes, £70k is a lot of dough but most rivals are quite a lot more expensive. Sadly that's motorhome pricing in 2023.

Hello Peter, we like both the 584 for garage space (big enough for bikes) but prefer the island bed in the 594 (bike rack as the solution as the bikes are too big for the 594 garage). Which is your preference out of the 2 models? We do like the 584 but don't like the fact that the 2 singles don't convert to a double - and are a bit disappointed it doesn't come with slats for ventilation, as you point out. The good news is that the 2024 5 series models come with cab blinds and a kitchen flap - I guess Swift must have seen your video and taken note!

They are pretty much the same, except for the bedroom, so it depends how you prefer to sleep, singles or a double. Have you tried the beds in each for size? Also, have you looked at some of the alternatives. For example, the Chausson 788 and Rapido 696F both have an island bed that can be raised to get your bikes in - that might solve your dilemma?

Good review as usual Peter, not sure I could live with the second bed and that shower tray lip looks to invite trouble from water ingress over time but for me the most off putting is the payload, can this model be up plated? Cheers K.

You'd need to check with SvTech as to what GVW can be increased to - www.svtech.co.uk/ - but should be possible

Maybe but most makers fit sockets at floor level in the lounge. Wouldn't that be better (home like home) for your laptop?

Not for me, at that price I'd expect more thought into the detail as regards the seating, swapping, it's very clumsy in design

It's certainly excellent value for money as it costs the same as most VW campers without washrooms and fixed beds. The only thing that puts me off is having nowhere big enough to park it.

VW campers are just weekend toys. Utterly useless. They're all about harking back to the aircooled 1960s versions, nothing more.

Our VW T6 camper is the most useful vehicle we've ever owned, not useless at all. It's my wife's daily car, a five-seater with limousine-style space, has been a van (recently collected an antique bed with rear seat slid forward), weekend camper for two adults and two kids, great picnic vehicle and will give us a cheap two-week holiday in France when we'll add an awning. All with minimal depreciation! What other vehicle can do all that?

@@MotorhomeCampervan Vw campers are the equivalent of a £5 t-shirt being sold for £40 because it has armani printed on the front. Marketing brilliance. they're vehicles so can obviously be used to transport stuff and people within they're limits, just like any vehicle on the planet. However, as campervans they're just overpriced toys. A £100 tent provides just as much freedom because you're restricted to staying in campsites, using their facilities and converting the vehicle from outside even if it's raining. People pay for the fantastic marketing image vw buses have been lucky enough to aquire over the decades. It's pure marketing.

They never really happened in Europe. A few manufacturers have dabbled with them but there are weight issues (most buyers want a 3,500kg GVW) and makers struggle to stop them leaking after a few years.

It's all down to driving licences. Most drivers in the UK can only drive up to 3,500kg without taking another test. Saving lives? Well our roads are probably a lot more congested than yours.

the idea of these so called beds when you convert sofas, lower the table and 'rearrange' the cushions .... would wreck my back in one single night, plus half of the floor space in the shower is taken up by a wheel arch .... this feels a little held together by baling twine.

The main beds are at the rear, so the lounge bed is probably for kids or occasional use only. Better to go for a model with a drop-down bed if you need four berths
