Those of us that lived through that generation in San Francisco! I lived on the corner of hate and Ashberry across from the house where the grateful dead lived. If you lived in that era of San Francisco the summer of love you are truly touched by Magic the best generation ever 60s 70s 80s.

I have always thought of Grace's voice as "sultry". She is incredible! So glad you chose this! I really LOVE your channel and the "new office" suits you! It couldn't happen to a better man!I think you are really good at what you do and feel you are very genuine! I am a huge fan of you! I am completely disabled and you have made this part of my life's journey much more bearable. I really wish I could convey my appreciation monitarily but it's infortunate that I am unable. I 'preciatecha' BIG TIME, though!

I was fortunate enough to see the Jefferson Airplane in '66 and '67 and Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis during their farewell tour with her in '68...toss in seeing Jackie DeShannon in '64 on the Beatles tour and Aretha Franklin in '65 and you could say that I've done pretty well in the iconic singers department...

@AliasMark69 When I think back over all the bands that were available, accessible, and affordable to us in the '60s-'70, it amazes me how fortunate we were to live in such a golden era of music...I got to meet members of the Jefferson Airplane and the Grateful Dead as well as Country Joe...it really was a special time, especially for those people who lived in big market cities...

Obviously lipsynching to the record, but that's fine. Grace brought this song and "White Rabbit" with her from her previous band, The Great Society, when she replaced Signe Andersen, who was JA's original vocalist. Both songs became massive hits for the Airplane. Marty Balin, seen sitting at the keyboard, was the Airplane's other vocalist and had a beautiful voice. When they sang together it was magical, as they continued to do with Jefferson Starship after Casady and Kaukonen left to form Hot Tuna.

You should look up information about Grace Slick. She has had an interesting life. She once tried to slip LSD into President Nixon’s drink, but she brought anarchist Abbie Hoffman as her escort to the event and he drew security flags from Nixon’s security team and they were escorted out of the White House. She is a character.
@robertbrescia3196Ай бұрын
According to her version of the story, the Secret Service men at the entrance to the White House told she couldn't come in even though she had an invitation. She had been a classmate of Tricia Nixon in college, who invited former friends and associates to the WH for formal tea. When Grace asked the security men why she couldn't be admitted, they told her "We know who you are. You and your band on the FBI watch list." Having Abbie as an escort probably didn't help. She was going to flick a very small amount of LSD into Richard Nixon's tea.

Please react to the Cat Empire’s Two Shoes or any of their songs really. They are a Melbourne (Aus) band formed in 1999 just playing the pub circuit and then became loved worldwide, still touring today. Their sound is a fusion of jazz, funk, ska, and rock with heavy Latin influences. Their music is really infectious and I’m sure you and your subscribers would love them music 🎶

Nope these are good...but better is when Dick Cavett did the day after Woodstock show ...with the Airplane and Stephen Stills and David Crosby and Joni Mitchell They played Somebody to love at the end and then jammed for like 15 mins straight and Cavett couldn't talk
