I walked up to Panekire hut in 2009. It was a hard walk. I didn't have time to finish the whole track. Good on you. My favourite is the Heaphy.

Me again,also the hut you stayed in was pure luxury our small class team stayed in a hand hewn tin shed that was freezing cold and it filled with smoke when we tried to cook dinner, cold beans then.Have a blast in New Zealand and do come again.

There is definitely a very wide variety of huts in NZ! We love the character of the older ones, but also the luxury of the newer ones :) Thanks for your comment!
