Firstpost , Good reporting on vandalism of The Great Wall of China . Here are a few suggestions: (1) The Great Wall of China is the longest man made structure without any doubt . It was meant to keep the raiding tribes out in ancient , classical & medieval times. However in modern times it becomes a hindrance to local people . (2) Some parts of the wall can be torn down to facilitate business , ease of transportation etc (3) Toilets should be constructed near the base of the wall with walk - ways to allow promote tourism . Those soldiers in those areas had to go about their toilet too . Those toilets were usually damaged by enemy forces to start mental warfare or simply did not last the time duration of 1000 years . (4) Similarly souvenir shops , gift shops , hotels can be placed at the bottom of wall to promote more trade connected by walk- ways / overhead bridge . (5) Towers could be repaired , telescopes or binoculars installed to give a glimpse of ancient soldiers point of view . (6) Any new unnecessary building activity eg toilets , storage areas etc on the wall should be discouraged & fined .Keeping such new activity below the wall preserves the aesthetic value to the wall . Perhaps your channel could do a report on preservation of ancient artifacts , monuments & pass the few suggestions to relevant officials or politicians .
