Damn!! You’re killing it out there. I don’t think some people understand just how much brute strength that takes and split second decision making when you were self passing the pole one-handed under the anchor jig and cable multiple times. Very impressive! All while that big ole fish is getting bullied by the bigger ole Bruce Bruce!! Nice, man! Great videos of your trips. Looks fun as hell!!

Having been a mate on a party boat I can say with experience you're doing an awesome job. Way to move those customers around and great gaffing skills

Dude coming from a first mate on a private charter boat for 6 years, I take my hat off to you. You are Johnny on the spot with your gaff shots, you’re assertive and control the big crowd with all their lines very well, you coach guys through the experience etc., and you’re always hustling! I’m from the northeast (MA) and worked on a 38’ Holland Downeast style boat. Is this what people are referring to when they talk about “Long Range” charter fishing?

this captain is good...first thing he does is put the fish down to avoid needless suffering. Cleans them then quick...when you let fish slowly suffocate or suffer the meat is dealing with all the chemicals released trying to sustain life. GREAT JOB

Hey Bud! I'm no fishermen but I am a dedicated metal detectorist. So I get the patience game. Your life looks amazing. You sir need to write a book one day. (I for one would LOVE to read a tale of yours about a drunk customer that won't give up the reel when he's obviously screwing up the catch) Enjoy everyday Sir!!

This is what young people should do for a year or two before settling into the real world. Compare what Joe is doing verses some kids in Portland or seattle. Doesn’t have to be fishing either. National parks, Alaska, there’s so many adventures to last a life time. Helps to have a great attitude like Joe also.

I was on that trip last year! THIS WAS THE MOST EPIC TRIP IN THE LAST 7 YEARS.. The Spirit or Adventure is a great boat, has an awesome crew/chef, and they always put us on the fish. If you’ve never been on fishing of off Guadalupe, don’t judge! You simply have no idea of what it takes to land +100lbs fish on 30lbs test in water with MANY hungry Sharks. The taxman does not rest.. we probably only landed about 20-30% of the fish that hit.. can’t wait to do it again this year AND they’re adding one more day to it Ha! Stay bent

What a day! Look at the conditions, perfect. Plenty of fish, and a surprise great white. I used to be a deckhand on charter boats and I thought you handled the anglers very well. Do you guys sell the fish once back to shore? Who profits from a catch? What's the typical cost to book a space on a boat? And finally, when the sharks nibble half the tuna away what's done with the fish? That being there's enough left or just the tail removed. I would assume that the sharks left bacteria all around the bite that would make it into the rest of the fish.
