Final thoughts: The weapon is pretty good for raw damage, but if your enemy is moving it's a lot harder to deal damage consistently. I also apparently found the one niche use for the weapon in the video, so that was fun!

AFAIK the reason is because of how the damage bonus works. Despite the description saying that the weapon has a bonus vs players, in reality it actually has a damage malus against non-burning players, which means it always does that max damage vs buildings

I want to love this weapon so bad, the dps is crazy good for pyro but like, aiming it feel so inconsistent to me. It feel like it has the hitbox of the flare gun even though the model is so large. Ive had so many lives lost because the fireball will go right through someone and then do nothing. Also the lack of a good airblast hurts pyro's survivability pretty hard for me.

You really don’t need to do much to ‘fix’ this weapon, just make the hitbox more consistent, and have airblast share the same mechanic with fire, successful airblasts causes the airblast timer to decrease drastically. It rewards successful timing and punishes m2 spamming.

That's because Dragon's Fury has longer Airblast cool down than stock. 1.6 seconds I think as opposed 0.8 seconds. I'm fine with longer cool down so it isn't as supportive, but 1.6 is too harsh imo. Make it 1.2 idk

The thing is this, typically you only need 1 airblast if you play your cards right, fire two shots and M2 will kill a soldier, from long distacne just reflect every other. The thing is this, it forces you to use each rocket like it is Gabe's Gift, not some throw away "healing*" but you can go on tears if you are smart. Pyro relies heavily on poistioning and timing to get kills and this requires more but rewards you more. * Healing by preventing dmg dealt to you.

I remember doing the contract for this thing, I killed two heavys at the same time in 4 shots, while I hade a medic on me, I love this weapon. I also killed their scout accidentally with flare gun afterburn while trying to shoot their engi, so that's nice.

Pros and cons of the DF: Insanely high dps when aimed correctly, even able to 2hit light classes x3 damage always on sentries Im prolly wrong but i think it has like a 1.1x longer reach than the flamethrower. Lowers the FPS of enemies Downsides: Unreliable airblast Soldiers and demos can bait you into shooting so that you cannot airblast, you need to wait for the weapon to repressurize to be able to airblast. The projectile is super finnecky and sometimes doesnt spawn the center hitbox. Lowers the FPS of the user. Iirc, crits and the x3 burn boost dont stack

some responses -firing the gun does not stop you from airblasting, airblasting stops you from airblasting again. dealing with this is as simple as git gud at dodging projectiles and stop relying on your get out of jail free card -the projectile is consistent, it's just small. practice -Works On My Machine :^) -burn boost stacks with crits for a nice 225 on burning targets -the range bonus is closer to 1.8x standard flamethrower range t. exclusively used this flamethrower for 4 years

I dont use it, cuz you cant spycheck with it, the airblast has limitaions (like, you cant fire and then airblast whenever, you have to wait for the fire animation to be over), and beacuse it has a buggy hitbox. So, you basically give up being able to counter projectiles, and killing spies, aka you no longer counter those classes, and all you get is more dmg that is less consistent. Also, this weapond doesent explode, and it does very little knockback. Every bigger knockback you got was from the Scorch Shot

I think the weapons is at stock level but I use other flamethrowers i.e. phlog and backburner. that I just forgot about it. Along with the fact that the short circuit can delete the projectile.

I prefer Dragon's Fury over other flamethrowers in defensive situations and 1v1s. I use the Detonator instead of the Scorch Shot though, simply because it can hit people around corners better and people are more likely to hold W at me compared to the Scorch Shot.

here's a hint: wm1. don't worry people won't judge you for it since it isn't the normal flamethrower. trust me I've played used this thing a lot to know as much. also don't bother reflecting, you'll only leave yourself vulnerable. only use the airblast when extinguishing allies and only when you are sure you are safe

I think the whole gimmick of this weapon is, it does critical hit damage, but it isn’t actually critical hits, go you can technically stack it with the kritzkrieg to get 600 percent more damage on burning enemies

It does reduced damage against non burning players, giving it 25 damage, but when you shoot a burning player it bumps it up to its normal base damage of 75, it rewards precise aiming and helps deal with things the pyro originally couldn’t handle. The first thing: *A better hitbox* As another comment said, it sometimes goes through someone and not deal damage, but if the flame's -DAMN SMALL- corner hits a wall or something like that, it dissapears. That weapon makes me want to use it more often, but how it is, it's hard to have an appreciation to it without dying countless times supposing you are the one with bad aim and the dragon's fury isn't bad on it's hitbox

it doesn't mini crit burning players. consecutive hits increase it's fire rate. attacks on burning targets deal triple damage, which is independent of crits. it does 25 base damage, i think, though your numbers are suggesting 29. i say this as i've seen 75 on burning targets, you were getting 87. a crit would triple that again. 225-261 damage on a crit hit on a burning target

I do try the Dragon's Fury with the Scorch Shot every now and then, as a break from playing discount roamer with wm1. It just makes me sad man, its so hard to use and does so little. Nerfing the hitbox size further and enabling the entire hitbox to deal bonus damage, comapred to the current center of the fire ball only would really help. Also give it bonus damage so it isn't actually weaker than the flare gun at mid range, and increase afterburn length to improve reliability.

i think when they nerfed the projectile size . it become so hard to hit people . i myself did not like the amount of damage you do if people are next to each other what made it really strong . it like strong short range rocket launcher . i think of a better fix is to keep the big projectile size but enemy that hit indirectly by it . get less damage by 30/40% . this may make it better . also god . please remove the air blast delay . maybe to balance it . make it cost more ammo on airblast .

W+M1 is bad for Quick burst damage, it is only good if your enemy is distracted and you manage to flame them a bit before they notice, or the enemy is a Demoman or Sniper running at you with their melee

You need to be good at aiming, and able to hit the enemy multiple times in a row, otherwise, it basically can't do shit. You have the advantage if you can aim, but you're basically dead if you can't hit those shots. That's why it shouldn't get nerf

I would like for projectile to be more visually informative so both the attacker and the target could see the narrow beam that hits for triple damage, cos i never really know until i see the damage numbers.
