Hey kid, you ever wanted to go to space? TF2x10 is a fun mode that a lot of people gloss over for clogging up the community server list. It's definitely not perfect, but it's much more playable than a lot of people would like to admit. This time around is Pyro, who a lot of people hate because in all honesty, he isn't very fun to play against. But does that necessarily mean he's broken, or just poorly designed? Guess there's one way to find out!

x10 tier lists are back! They never really went anywhere, but I'm actually going to do them regularly again. I'll do Sniper next, then Scout, then Medic, since that's the order of confidence I have in the tier lists. Sorry it's been so long since the last one!

This isn't specific to x10, but I've always been mildly baffled that the Pyro never got a "Sea Dragon" flamethrower whose defining characteristic is that it works underwater and burning caused by it cannot be extinguished by water.

Hydro blaster, like a blastoise So I’m assuming it’s literally just a high pressure water sprayer that doesn’t even ignite people to begin with just fills their lungs with water and Pushes them while dealing slightly less damage

I have one of those mice where you can turn off the resistance on the scroll wheel and have it keep spinning, so one of my favorite things to do in x10 is to give it a flick, begin cycling through all my weapons a million times a second, and effectively dual wield the degreaser and flare gun since its switch speed is so fast that actually works. I imagine melee weapons would work as well if they didn't have the .65 second delay between clicking and doing damage

I'd say that at least the backburner, phlog, and manmelter should be put in consistently average - homewrecker has a specific situation where it should be used, i.e. when engie nests are becoming a nuisance, and the detonator mainly used for extreme vertical mobility, and both of those items fit the situationally amazing description because they're literally the best possible option for their situations. The other three, however, don't have specific situations you'd use them in. They're not the best options, and they aren't made to be for specific situations. Said it yourself that the backburner is still really good lol

The jetpack does let you do 300x falling damage to anyone you land on, though the odds of that, well, that's a different story.

The detonator is great! You can shoot yourself onto the tower, fall down and use the dragons fury to kill enemies in seconds, and then jump back up and get a few health packs. If you use the back scratcher you only need one before you can fall back down! The other team can never predict where you are going to be, you become a spy that has 175 health and doesn't need to be behind people to kill them. It is incredibly powerful, at least on hightower. On other maps it is consistently average.

If you don't use the Back Scratcher, I would recommend using a stock reskin because they nullify fall damage.

@@aperson4287 But the back scratcher can kill almost anything in one shot, and gives you full health if you use any sized health kit. If you are climbing the tower, you have infinite health as there is health packs lining the tower on each level.

90% of the time I play x10 mode in general, I use backburner detonator backscratcher pyro. nothing is funnier to me than sneaking up on someone and sending them to the other side of the map

I remembered back in the day when you can play x10 in any map, literally just detonator yourself to enemy spawn, one pump somebody out of the map with the backburner airblast and then detonator yourself back home before the enemy knows what to do and as soon as you get back, the person you airblasted has already died from going out of the map

regular flamethrower should only refelect projectiles in x10 theres already the backburner so you should have to make a choice between powerful knockback or constant reflect

If the Gas Passer had a rework where it gets a fuse and when you throw it on the ground it creates a powerful explosion and make the enemy players in the radius range burst into flames. And for 15 secs , the ground(where it landed) to be burning with visible flames. The Downside would be that if you hold it too much(after the fuse got inflamed) then it would explode in your face. And this will have a cooldown and resupply do not affect the Gas meter(so it wouldn't be abused) That would be pretty cool, just think throwing this at a group of players on Upward.

Gas Passer is much more useful on the few x10 servers out there, though still not that good outside of them. In those servers, you get the explode on ignite upgrade and then it becomes a grenade with a stupid large radius.

Seems to me that a lot of the upgrades done to bad weapons in TF2x10 might be just what the vanilla weapons need to be somewhat viable. Except for the Gas Passer, which should just have been a burning trap you can set up every x seconds a la Jarate.

The Reserve Shooter is for a Pybro build to help engis and there nests out where swapping between your Flamethrower and Homewrecker are more important then reliable damage or ammo as you don't need as much damage or ammo since the Engi will support you in those fields so your goal is just to help your teams engineer to protect a large sentry camp. So for large Sentry nests immediate swapping can certainly help if your playing Pybro. The Axtinguisher has 1 use if your playing a x10 pub and you accidentally light a frenemy on fire you can use that to put them out.

I think the Flamethrower should get changed to +200% Airblast Speed, That way you can still become a *mostly* Projectileproof shield, BUT, You don't have as much ability to throw people off cliffs from across the map

This is a good tier list, except for one teensy problem I have: Sharpened Volcano Fragment, as far as total damage goes, is literally a direct upgrade to Back Scratcher. It still deletes most enemies without the medic downside, and the health pack boost isn't SUPER significant, especially on Highertower where you get medium kits up the ass anyway.

Sniper is both easiest to play and worst to fight, only thing you gotta do is take a few steps out of spawn and kill people from across the map where they can't even see you and the only thing that's a real counter to it is another sniper. Broken braindead class.

my favourite load out for pyro on x10 is basic flamethrower or dragon fury detonator (really long jumps) or gas passer (reload fast and you can gas chamber your opponents) backscatter or powerjack

i really like the x100 better but here are my top 5 the 5th place is the Persian persuader and splendid screen combo 4th is vaccinator pocket medics 3rd place is kunai spy 2nd place is dds adn stock or awp sniper combo and the 1st is the tomislav dalokohs and the gru heavy (but keep in mind the dds sniper got nerfed so that it wont over heal)

I would put gas passedr in "One or two uses" Since in some servers it regens quite quickly and can be annoying. Also the fragment should also be in one or two. As it's basically only good for spies. And in 10x a lot of people have more HP than normal so they can find a health pack quite reliably.
