I am not Egyptian and luckily I lived in Cairo for many years in the 60s and I enjoyed living there very much. These times were a lot better and nicer than it is now. Cairo is not the same as it is very over crowded now and dirty. The food was delicious, and life was pleasant and enjoyable and politics was very low keyed and we lived safely. Unlike today where life is difficult and politics has made this country quite ugly. Egypt was like living in heaven. It was fun and peaceful and everyone felt safe. Life is very different now....what a shame. My wish is for the good old days to return cause I would to go back to Egypt and enjoy having wonderful days again. Soccer was a huge sport in Egypt and I was an Ahlawy fan. Our arch rival team was El-Zamalek and with these two teams played each other the streets used to be empty as everyone was watching the game on TV. Ah the good old days.......I miss them very much. But I am hopeful....as the saying goes.....when your drink water from the Nile you got to go back and drink it again.

@@jestinmathew4503 Hi Jestin, Yes I live in the beautiful USA for many years. Sadly our beautiful USA is now changing fast and going downhill thanks to the ugly Democrats who are acting as "Enemies of the USA" and I wish that they will all drop dead and go to hell before they ruin, weaken and damage our free and democratic country. I hate and cannot stand the imbecile senile Joe Biden, who is the very worst president in the history of the US. I am a US citizen and I love my USA with all my heart and want the best for our beautiful USA.

@@ЕвгенийШупик-б2в Egypt was a monarchy. The country was very very clean and I even have a newspaper article saved that shows Cairo was ranked #1 most luxurious city in THE WORLD (even ahead of Paris etc..). This man named Nasser was a communist and overthrew the royal family with some thieves from the military. They nationalized all business and stole the land. They were very corrupt and stole a lot of money for themselves and their own family. He also encouraged pan-Arabism and religion in politics. He wanted to unite all Arabic nations into one country. (even at one-time Syria and Egypt became one country!). He completely destroyed the economy and businesses. Society's high standards fell and religion infiltrated the education system and government. My grandfather was Greek and all his siblings left and went back to Greece. They moved to Egypt for a better life because it was a very developed nation back then and had higher pay than even other countries in Europe. My grandfather was the only one in his family to stay in Egypt. Nasser and his corrupt gang took his successful business and even his car. My dad is the oldest and was lucky to already have attended boarding school in Switzerland and was nearly finished in his education. So my dad was able to permanently move abroad and get a good job. But all my other dad's siblings (my aunts and uncles) didn't get the same education as my dad because my grandfather could not afford it anymore and lost everything including all his land. This happened to so many families. Now Egypt is slowly recovering but may never be the same. Everything is religiously charged and the standards for education are very poor for the majority of the population. There are still nice areas but they are only for the wealthy. Hopefully, it will.

@@markk7569 i guess nasser and Mohammed Najib both influenced their supporters and claimed the Royal family is selfish and greedy and wont spend a dime on the citizens, beside losing the war against Isreal under so called “The Jammed Weapons Deal” therefore they encourged those with Higher Egyption patriotism standards to stand against the King under promised of wealth and better living. That is when Farouq refused to use the army and only chosed Peace and left along with family leaving all fortune behind. Too late society realised the strong presense of the police in every corner and things become way strictful and bribes start to arise like no tommorow. Today Egypt Is famous for bribery in all Public-Private Sectors and Quality of life are among the Wrost of all poor countries. Only the poor are Suffering and Toddlers Trafficing Crimes all over the country and Islamic Brotherhood Presense is mindblowing. Egypt will never be the same. Old Egypt will only kept in memories

This year marks the Centennial of the establishment of the Egyptian Kingdom, H.M. King Fouad I. it's sovereign. (1922 -- 2022) From no quarter as yet know to this writer, has word-one about it been uttered or published. This omission is sad, to put it leastwise. There do remain several of months to correct this error of lack. As Prince, Sultan and King, H.M. Fouad I worked indefatigably to better Egypt and, like Mohammad Aly Pasha before him and his successors, did all as he was humanly able, to continue bringing Egypt into the modern world. At this he proved markedly successful; his many advances attained, being matters of facts of clear record. This writer hopes and trusts that efforts are to be made, such that will concert to honor this most signal event of the Kingdom's establishment by Fouad Rex and it's continuance ('till cessated by devious machination of untoward influence and action) by his most capable and charismatic son, H.M. King Farouk.
