You two have a fabulous rapport together..you seem to be fast becoming a double act.. Enjoyed the banter.

Well, I’d say that one of us is like one of the Chuckle Brothers. I’ll let you decide which one 😉

My favorite album of the last 25 years is Primal Screams Exterminator (XTRMNTR). It came out mid january 2000 so just making it. Great video guys. Always enjoy it.

Hi Magnus I was close to including XTRMNTR - I was listening to it just last week - but left it out in the end. On another day, it would be there! Cheers John

@@6inchpianist I saw later you did mention it as a runner up. I guess i was too fast to comment. It feels kind of like an 90s album for me era wise. Than one from 00-24. Brilliant album no less.

Great hour spent listening to you gents. Several albums there that would make my list. I have several Wilco CDs but not listened to them for years, I'll maybe dig that one out for a listen...I remember first hearing PJ Harvey's 'Stories...' at a CD listening station in HMV Camberley one lunchtime and falling in love, even though I'd not really liked much she'd done to that point. The Strokes debut is one of a very few albums that I have made my wife sit and listen to because I was so amazed by it at the time (she said something like 'yes very nice dear...')...cheers Dale

Hi Dale. The Strokes had the same effect on me. Their sound was a real tonic at the time. I regret not seeing them live back then. They were the perfect band for a while there. Dig out those Wilco CD’s. Ignore Hedley, Summer Teeth is the one to hear again 😉

At first I read this like 2000-2004, and thought it appropriate that you two would think the 21st Century ended 20 years ago. 😅 I’ll be back to watch.

When you see our choices, you’ll see that we didn’t make it past 2003 😀

Never forget seeing the TV series the Last Panthers from the UK. The opening of each episode was a different version of Blackstar.
@6inchpianistАй бұрын
Never seen that programme, Dave. I’ll try to find those versions if Blackstar on KZbin
Saw Billy Strings open for Willie Nelson. Great band and performance. Footage on my channel somewhere.

Radiohead lost me after The Bends. And Yankee Foxtrot didn’t sit with me. Eventually I’m starting to like it. I still do not own a copy of it though. Cheers, Brian☘️

Ah a wonderful double act. Smith & Jones. Little & Large Cannon & Ball Hedley & John (6") I find myself thinking I don't have much 21st century tunes and am 80/90s top heavy. I'm with you on old gits in music are generally crap so Cohen and Bowie more adventurous.

Or how about “Encore” by The Specials? Another good 21st Century album by a classic band 👌

Glad you enjoyed it. Hedley really likes the Billy Strings album. I’ll check it out 👍👍

I'll confess that I still don't love YHF as a whole. There are great songs on it but i don't love it as a singular cohesive album, especially following on Summerteeth and Being There, both of which I love. My disappointment made me uncomfortable, like I was a modern day equivalent of the Dylan fans who didn't want him to go electric. I enjoyed the discussion of Black Star and the last 2 LC albums. Are you familiar with Anjani "Blue Alert"? It came out in 2006. She had been one of LC's backup singers and was at the time his girlfriend. The album is torch song versions of LC penned songs which at the time had never been recorded. "Thanks for the Dance" is on the album. Its really a great record. Wish it was on vinyl. Sadly, I could say that about many of my favorites from the early '00's.

Fontaines DC are like a worse version of Sleaford mods with guitars.
