I’m literally waiting for an important phone call right now. I know they are going to call today but they didn’t say what time. I have been unable to focus on or do anything else all day but wait for the phone to ring.

Great video. For me, the '2m rule' has been in effect forever....that is the closest that I want any non-partner/non close friend to get to me at the best of times, and I feel that a vast majority of NTs have a core inability to appreciate and respect personal space.

The worst part about a phone call for me is sometimes I just can't figure out where the conversation ends. I'll say something like "OK bye" and the other person keeps talking. In my head I'm like "There's more? How is there MORE?"

That last Loki meme really hit home. Reminds me of when i was visiting my mom recently and she asked me if I "felt like driving". If she wanted me to drive, why couldn't she just ask me if I wouldn't mind driving?? I guess I knew what she meant, but this still drove me crazy. Its like... "then ask me what you want!" I didn't want to drive and she probably knew that, but I felt like she was forcing me to say, "yes I want to drive" so that she feels better about asking me. My honest answer would have been "no I do not want to, but I am willing to." But of course I can't say that! sigh... The notification meme was also good. I regularly turn my phone through all sorts of acrobatics to try and read notifications without opening them. I appreciate notifications at the same time that they are a constant source of mild anxiety for me.

I've been diagnosed with ADHD and I just started getting my medication but I've been doing research on autism and apparently I have most symptoms except unlike you, I despise rules (especially if it's not based on reason) and I'd sometimes go out of my way to break them just to prove a point

Urgh phone calls. I have a phone call scheduled for 10am and I can't start anything else because I know that call is lurking around waiting for me. Unscheduled incoming phone calls are worse though because they totally interrupt what I'm doing, and if they end up being a complainy customer that won't accept anything I say can put me off for the whole rest of the day. Thankfully doesn't happen too much, though.

Phone calls make me anxious because I never know how long they are going to last. Interaction is easiest for me when it’s scheduled and mapped out. For example, I know a meeting will last from 1-2.
