Detroit Speed’s DSE-Z is one of those rare anomalies of a build - pretty much what we’d consider perfect. Built with unreal detail, BUT it’s built to shred too. And shred it does. Detroit Speed’s owner Kyle Tucker gave this very car a serious rip in our yard, as you’ll see in this video. Can we take this thing home already?

The son of Jeg Coughlin who owns Jegs has a third gen that is built to this caliber. It has an lsxr454, and some nascar trans. It was built by an ex nascar crew chief from what I hear. Everything was custom just like this car. I couldn’t believe what I was looking at, absolutely insane. It comes into the body shop of the dealer I work at here in Ohio, that’s when I was told about it by the body guy. It is absolutely fkn nasty just like this car. Easily over a 100k build.

I must say this build was brilliant by DSE, As a College student that wanted to go the “American muscle” route. I ended up purchasing a 89 Iroc-Z as realistically a fox body or a 3rd Gen were the only two platforms that were around for the right price point without a complete rebuild, or a new-ish muscle car which while faster and safer still don’t really have me sold. The parts DSE are providing are great for the platform and I hope to put some on mine once I get some expendable income. Again, college student here. Regardless, for how many terrible examples of 3rd gens are out there it’s refreshing to see one built so well.

Ahhhhhh I love seeing third gen's with proper suspension systems and real horse power... With the massive wide wheel base of those cars and low center of gravity they are beyond under rated platforms. Awesome work. Btw one of my several third gens was actually this color lol with the a black hood back in the olden days.

This is pretty much my dream car from my childhood. I love this gen so much and this thing is built in exactly the way that I would have done it. I don’t need a 2000hp street car, I just want something that is fun and easy to drive with just enough power to get you in trouble! The only things I would change would be the color and the rims. I do still like the color and wheels that are on it, but I would change them if I had my choice. I really wish I could buy this car because it’s fucking amazing and I love what they’ve done with it. Hopefully some day I’ll get to the point where I can get my own!

Brings back memories of the Third gen I built back in 1992. My 1991 had a 402CID with a Accel/Lingenfelter Super Ram and AFR heads along with Global West Suspension components Lowered 1"-1.5" with custom American Racing Wheels 17x 9.5 F/ 17 x 10.5 Rear. GM 700R4 Trans with modified Corvette Valve body and Servo quick shift kit. 13" Baer Brake Corvette Front brakes. Baer Brake 12" Corvette rear brake kit on modified GM 9" Rear end. And Yes, I ran a 10pt. roll cage on a STREET/Road Course car and the plus to all of this...... MY CAR WAS A CALIFORNIA CAR THAT PASSED SMOG YEARLY.......BEAT THAT! The car was GM Arctic White with 2 racing stripes nose to tail. GOOD MEMORIES....
