Crofty catches a lot of flak, and I understand it to a certain degree. But more often than not, he brings a massive level of excitement to the race for me.
@ChunkMunkz9 ай бұрын
The reason I have heard was that he is to loud and that he makes mistakes with names, time etc but in the heat of the moment every live sport commentator for sports that are fast paced unlike say golf will slip up with some info, it is hard for commentators like him to make it entertaining cause if the race is boring *Monaco* then it's up to them to make sure they can make it entertaining. IMO commentators can make or break something if they are being dead or even normal (in the way of conversations you would have in person with someone you know) then it isn't entertaining for me, I'm a fan of eSports events for Apex, ACC and CSGO and I can say that they are a vital part for the fans in more ways than 1 i've been to LAN events for CSGO and yes that atmosphere is electric but the commentators know how to hype shit up and when they do it makes the moment so much better for everyone.

I feel like the majority of the problems people have with Crofty are just due to the fact that he feels F1 should be commentated like the fast-paced sport that it is. While I think that the substance of Murray's commentary was always much better, there is no doubt that Crofty just creates an energy around especially the opening lap that makes it really feel like a battle. Really though, I feel what we really need less of is the side-commentators like Chandhok and Kravitz; they're the ones that mainly fill the uneventful moments and do normally a really bad job at it. Were I the producers at Sky, I'd just leave all the B-list commentators for the pre-race and just give Crofty a shot at calling the whole thing by himself; would probably turn out a lot better.
