Great video guys, thanks! Is it possible to not "spoil" the game before you guys start watching or would that not fit with concept of the video series? I never heard of this final or have seen it, so having all the possible drama, twists and tension out at minute 1:33 was a little bit frustrating. In my opinion walking us through the game in "real time" seems more exciting and keeps newer basketball fans more engaged. Rest of the video was still very entertaining and you guys got the usual thumbs up of course.

A game that not a lot of people will remember, but is definitely worth re-watching is the 2007 EL semifinal between Panathinaikos and Tau Ceramica. Massive defensive masterclass by Zeljko against a very talented offensive team that included Scola, Prigioni, Rakocevic, Planinic and Splitter.

The story of Printezis is even more interesting. Having no secured time during the star packed era of Oly that won nothing, he signed for Malaga. When he had the terrible injury and was released, he signed for the Greek playoffs for Olympiakos (during their last high spending year, imagine the guards were Papaloukas Spanoulis Teodosic Halperin) just to get back to shape and close the year and did not impress. During that summer when the team was dismantled (and the owners considered leaving) the story is that he just walked in the Aggelopoulos brothers office and told them just say a number and i will sign. Printezis was an Olympiakos fan as a kid and a member of the men’s team since he was 15 but until that summer he was an ok role player for a good team and not even the star of a lesser team. Story also goes that during that summer he did extra practices with his trainer all summer long in his island of Syros. He came back a different player but even after that shot nobody could expect he would evolve into a EuroLeague legend. It looks like this EuroLeague completely liberated him.
@bbekiaris

The only thing I want to add here is that Duda wasn't a fan either. It wasn't a coach's decision to add him to the team. The remaining year and the summer was working extra hours.

Tell the story of the CSKA-Panathinaikos Semifinal too. There was literally a top 10 of "Referee Mistakes" in that match at one point. I don't know if it still exists. They robbed us badly in that game. Kirilenko was on fire, but CSKA had HEAVY influence on the refs that season. Which made that ending, a bit enjoyable.

Nice video guys! About the Printezis signature shot: Its absolutely not inefficient if done correctly! You release the ball much faster than a "normal" hook shot or a layup and this gives you a big advantage on the defender. But the important part about Printezis is that he developed it ambidextrously! Meaning he could execute it with both hands, equally well. Thats why he was almost unguardable in the post in his prime years. He could turn from any angle and shoot faster than anyone could react

Printezis hit that iconic shot against a (good) coach, that used to forbid him taking a shot this way, when he was at OLY!! xD Papanikolaou aged 19 at that time, could have been chosen easily as the MVP of the tournament. For many OLY fans, this game healed and old wound from the final against Badalona, back in the 90's.There are only a handful of coaches in the History of the game, that could have done what Duda (RIP) did and said in that timeout, at the end of the 3rd period. Thank you guys, great video!! * down -19 in a final and you bring in a team that averages 20 years old, taking away from them any pressure by asking them calmly just to play their way/game and setting only 1 simple goal: Try and bring down the scoring difference close to -10 until the end of the quarter. This could have easily turn from tragedy to comedy, under any other situation. Printezis said in an interview that the final play, was the first play they learned at the begining of the season, a flex play for a fast attack between him and Spanoulis.

Nice video guys! I wanted to add something to your conversation. First of all Acie Law was guarding Gordon because in the previous game against Barcelona , he sprained his ankle, you can see after Printezis shot he is standing on one feet. Teodosic didn't want to shoot the last free throws because in the previous game against panathinaikos lost two free throws in the last seconds of the game and finally, In Greece it is said that Duda asked the players to foul anyone but no Siska in the last possession of CSKA.. When I woke up I just assumed that we've lost and that we were humiliated, but I didn't care so I wore my Olympiacos scarf and went to school wearing it. The best moment of my life was when my best friend (who's a Panathinaikos fan) sang the Olympiacos anthem as we had bet the previous day and that's how I learned that we were European champions. Oh maaan the chiiiilss. I can't thank these players, the owners enough for those moments. Let's get the 4th one this year!!! 🔴⚪️

I remember that on 53-34 I stopped watching because I was in another country and with time zone it was already late, so I turned off the TV. I even wrote on Facebook '' If there will be a turn over of the game, wake me up'' and I went to sleep.The next morning I went online to check the final score and I was shocked by the fact and the way we won, that I started crying in my office. It felt like I betrayed my team and it was an awful feeling. I was happy and sad at the same time. Not to mention the comments that I got for my post. ''Wake up'', ''I hope that you didn't go to sleep finally'' and so on. From that point , I never did that again. It proved that the mentality of Duda, made that team a ''Refuse to lose'' one....The next year we won the Euroleague again with Bartzokas, but the team was the creation of Ivkovic.

Great video, thank you! I remember I felt completely hopeless during the game, CSKA was so much better and the difference in size and talent was huge. However those young guys Sloukas and Mantzaris with their defence caused confusion in CSKA leading them to many turnovers and bad decisions. Some big 3s mainly from Papanikolaou and the last minute of course, it's definitely the greatest story and upset in Euroleague. I remember watching this in my dorm room in London, alone. I was rewarded next year when the FF4 came to London and watched the B2B title in the stadium!

2012 was also the last season we saw Printezis with not a single visible tattoo. He returned for 2012-2013 season with sleeves! :-P

@BasketNews on Ivkovic blasting at half time on Spanoulis. Duda later said during an interview that he blasted on the best player to force the wake up of the others and that he actually nodded to Spanoulis that he will do this and vasilis nodded back

Teodosic in crucial moments of all his Final 4 matches, even the one he won in 2016 was always horrendous. His performance against Oly in the 2013 rematch was even worst then in 2014 against Maccabi more of the same, then 2015 against Oly..more of the same.

A personal recommendation would be to watch the Greek League finals 2016 games 2 & 4, more preferable game 4. You’ll definitely enjoy it.

This loss is clearly on Kazlauskas. One of my favourite coaches, but you just cant loose control of your team like that.

im olympiacos fan, so i know and love theodosic(one of my favourite players of all times from my team)... the dude was a fucking beast in his moments and a disaster when he was off... so he starts this game guns blazing... and im getting pissed, because now he decided to have a good finals game? fuck me! then he starts missing all the time, and im starting yelling "thats who you are, re malaka"... every single time! never before in my life have i been so mean to a player(not even against diamantidis or w/e)! bless his soul, i still wish he could finish his career in olympiacos, because he was a born killer, just stubborn as all hell too.

Wow what did you made me remember now !!!! The story begins on February 8 when I passed out due to dehydration and tripped and broke my right leg to 2 points !!!! And had to do a surgery where they added to my leg a titanium bar with 8 screws !!!!! And it's around 40 days after the surgery where I am finding myself sitting on a couch in my living room and watching this game as seeing olympiacos staying behind the score more and more and more. And started thinking what the heck is that game I am watching? A porn movie? 😂😂😂😂 And right that time when I was ready to switch the TV off or change the chanell I see them (Olympiacos) starting reducing the score more and more and more up to the point they had only three points difference I shouted to myself and my mom : Hey they turned the game and they can win it!!!! And when Printezis delivered the final winning basket and the game ended with this unbelievable victory of Olympiacos I climbed up the couch and started jumping up and down on it like a crazy to the point that my mom said : You are going to break your leg again !!!!!😂😂😂😂 And I replied the heck with my leg I just saw the most unbelievable win with turnover that Olympiacos did and on a Final too !!!! Never going to forget these players and that team and the coach for this achievement only.

What most people don't know, is that Printezis is actually left handed. Not even Duda knew about this and found out at some point when he noticed that he was writing with his left hand, even though he shot the ball with his right lol.
