This is musical genius, no one not even Jimi could play like Terry, of whom Jimi said Terry was a better guitarist than he was....that's some big compliment from another guitar genius, and reportedly both couldn't read music.

I recently watched the documentary featuring Terry on Netflix. Very well done. The first concert I ever saw, (back in 1975 when I was in high school) was Chicago. Ever since, I've been a huge fan.

The thing that always blows me away about Kath is you would almost think he was playing a fretless guitar, based on the sound. Unless he's really hammering staccato notes, you can't hear any transition between them- just flowing like some insane liquid lightning.

One of the band members said he was the only person he knew of that could play lead ,rhythm and sing at the same time Jimmy Hendrix told them y’all know he’s better than me don’t you And Terry couldn’t even read music He would get one of the horn players to sit down with him and he would play what he was hearing in his head and the horn player would write the notes down Greatest musician of all time

i never seen anybody physically over power a guitar like that....ever at one point he picking add a 45° angle forward while at the bottom of the front board where it's so difficult and he's literally scratching the strings viciously.... each note in perfect tune.... like identical to the studio version except live. Jimi can do anything he wants on a guitar, he's still my favorite, but he can't do that. I've never even seen that before. the man is literally a reptile.... i bow down.....praise him PRAISE HIM

Terry could PLAY the WHOLE guitar! The key is to be able to play, sing & fill on an acoustic guitar by yourself! When I was teaching myself in the 70s, I was the WHOLE band on an old Yamaha acoustic! To this day EVERYONE always asks, “where did you learn to play like that”? My chord hand is strong! My strumming + picking precise, because I started off being the whole band. Terry is one of the BEST ever, big guy, hands as strong as can be, could play anything on the guitar from Flamenco to jazz, Classical to Country, but his favorite was Rock n Roll! Simple, it was tragic when he accidentally put that bullet in his brain, we lost one of the greatest musicians/composers ever!❤

@@RoxUniverse ... one night years ago, a accomplished guitarist at his place says to me, "Do you want to see a hard worker"? I laughed because I understand what that means and coming from him I understand what it certainly can potentially mean. ...in other words, whether it is the laborious work or mentally draining....it is technically hard work ONLY, if the person is TRYING HARD. Only people who have truly tried hard, and or, were forced to....BY RITES...could or should be the authority on such a state of being because, YESSSSS!!!! IT MATTERS!!!! ....worlds are built or lost on such concepts of contingency..... you start letting the inexperienced and unqualified make the call, then, THIS IS WHAT INEVITABLY HAPPENS, and it's not funny at all because I am experienced and qualified and therefore I did not contribute to what is now the elements....are there for real.... FOR THE END OF THE WORLD. Form vs substance.... The very proper and correct warning sign for example is the African cannibal in the operatic loin cloth. All the purpose in the world and beyond, IS ALL CONTAINED, in that picture or caricature.....and you see? YOU SEE HOW I prove my qualifications when I include caricature with picture. It does not obviously have to depict the same form and substance as a caricature traditionally is. It doesn't have to as long as we being everyone that counts is on the same page where the picture itself and whatever comes after, THE ONLY IMPORTANT THING IS THE PICTURE as a start and a end. ... And we don't have to be redundant by saying before or after the most important thing....that everyone knows this. If we are redundant then we are technically knocking at the question.... (Then someone comes along and says, yeah I hear you but then again, It is proper or concise grammar to nail for certain the point home in which there is no question) ...and I say, SHOOT THAT PERSON....HERE, I'll do it myself. ...end of story, only the people that count will understand and agree with me that we are not going to be redundant because we're building worlds and beyond here. THE POINT has been driven home, our glove IS made of iron..... INTENTIONS WILL GET YOU KILLED. Now, with all that said, my point will be crystal clear when I declare this moment, that, WE ARE BRINGING IT HOME BOYS AND WE ARE COMING IN HOT..... because my top end is UNNNNLIMITED😐. Remember the part in the movie called "whiplash"?.... The bald-headed taskmaster extraordinaire is so punctual by obvious Hollywood standards, that only the unqualified and inexperienced ie; SHLUBBS... calling the door closing shut just before the click of the big hand clock TOP OF THE HOUR = form YOU ARE LATE = substance YOU ARE LATE sir and the nature of that black T-shirt and accompanied bare scalp...SHAVED? GOOD GOD MAN...youre a pitiful sight....INSULTED ARE YOU😐...🤨 I think your brain is overheated sir, OVERINDULGED IN HOMOSEXUAL EXCESS...! Hard worker? ....yeah, at being a F**....No form. No substance. Back to the house story, My friend pulled out a DVD of deep purple in Europe, FFWD to "the mule" and I clearly understood what he meant when he pointed out the drummer was a hard worker. Ian Pace. He then put in Jimi Hendrix live at Woodstock.... He just wanted to watch Jimi and you bet, me too. This is why I replied to you specifically because you described a style of being personally strong-handed. My friend without a doubt and for years and years and years if not decades but in more recent times and being of course accomplished with the electric guitar and understanding the point of music no different than somebody like Buddy Rich who believes if it's not arduous then it's not music. And so, I began to study music and musicians and sound and technique and why is this guy better and so on but to this day I've never so much as picked up even a drum stick.... And it extends out to vocals as well so of course I understand things about singers who had more octaves than others and therefore more range but there's more to it because Elvis is my favorite since I was a little kid back in the early '70s and staring at the posters in the record store completely spellbound by Elvis in which my mom without asking would buy me the latest Elvis album as they would come out and I pull out my guitar and put on the 33 RPM speed of the album King Creole

@@user-jn1ng9go1h" Hendrix+ SRV"=Buddy Guy is having -or had- a few more Children . Buddy used to be so polite when he played with them. Hendrix wasn't a 'Blues' Guy. Buddy was just like a Fortune Teller for the Blues - He, B.B. & John Lee Hooker got together & actually made a pact- that whoever lived longest would make sure he would keep The Blues running. That's why any time you see a Buddy Show he's dropping names as he plays a Song by 'This is a little bit of _(Robert Johnson,eg):🎶, or 'Here's some Charlie Patton -🎶||🎶||', on & on to keep it Alive. Make no mistake - In the '80s-early anyway, maybe before that, Santana was going to get on Stage & Play w/Buddy & his band at some Festival or something like that. Santana got on Stage & put on the Ibanez & Buddy hit him w/a flurry of Notes, rolling 1 string over another one to make that sound effect that comes from that (obviously). Santana took off his Guitar & WALKED OFF THE STAGE-There wasn't going to be any Santana & Buddy showdown/play around. This was told to me by a Puerto Rican Gent who was a Manager for Howlin' Wolf then Buddy & from that - I don't know what he did but it was told to me at either a Taj Show or an early Guy-Wells 'Review'-type Show & He went up to Santana said 'Carlos, que paso man? I thought you were going to Play together; what's up?' "It's Buddy - he's just so fkg good - I couldn't be on the same stage with him! He's THAT good!' Ie, Buddy let loose & Psyched Carlos off the Stage! Before they got going & they were FRIENDS! He had nothing to gain from LIEING to me about that. I already thought more about Buddy than Santana's limits (though he's a great Player- I knew that!). Look for "Lick This" Tutorial Series: Buddy Guy. I don't know if he lets loose on that one or not but he's sharing a few secrets w/whoever watches it. Clapton has said very much the same thing as Santana said. Buddy's polite & For The Blues; he's not getting off making people look embarrassed on Stage. Not anymore & not at 88. He's taken the reigns after Hooker and BB King passed away & Tours relentlessly in the least profitable Itinerary for making money to get the 🎼out there-it's not all in a row Touring City to City... It's what they schedule for him to do at the moment. I haven't seen him make anyone jolt out of their seats yet since the end of the COVID BS. Why? He's doing slower tempo numbers: 'Skin Deep' & others that aren't like 'Stone Crazy' or others. I can't judge him; I'm just looking forward to September 7th in Rohnert Park at Graton Casino and Resort (I think it's called). But it's a month later in the year than last year [Aug 4th,23 at 87] & he's a year older [88], slower, doesn't seem to want to meet & greet unless it's a money maker. He (& Jr) used to sell Peppermint or Checkerboard Lounges Tees- 'gas money' in Denver at a crossroads on the Interstates: I-70 & I-25 for a two day layover & figure it out as they'd have 2 nights in Denver to play at one joint: I never knew WHY they weren't doing The Little Bear in Evergreen [THEE Spencer Davis, Bo Diddley, Commander Cody's LPA: B. Kirchen, Bruce Barlow, Billy Farlow, Audie deLane,.., & Sleepy Labeef, etc] &/or the Town of Boulder- one of the 10 most expensive Public Universities in the USA. That's where Hot Tuna reunited (& Idaho Springs the next night) in '86 after '79. Buddy never used a Setlist btw- I've never seen one on Stage (DC, Dnvr⁵-⁶±, Ft Ldle, Redding, Rohnert Park, SF, ...

Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and also read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on KZbin. 😀
