With the Packers/Lions throw, there is a separate view from a fan's camera that shows just how high the ball was in the air - it almost hits a roof support. With the Packers/Janis catch against the Cardinals, watch how Janis gets his hand under the ball after the punch-out just before it hits the ground as he is turning over. Because it was ruled a catch on the field, there simply wasn't enough definitive proof to overturn the call. Janis sustained a severe back injury on the play.

Not a bad list. Out of all of them, the first one really struck me as the best of the list, mainly because of the atmosphere. A game-winning, buzzer-beating, Hail Mary TD at home; almost swatted by the defense, but fell into the hands of Mike Thomas. You can even hear the excitement in the voices of the commentators.

That's was a huge mistake? bruh, the very first one where the Texans player litterally just gave the ball to the receivers who couldn't even get there in time. He could have tried to catch it, or just let it go to hit the ground. But noooo... he just had to hit it backwards 5 yards to make sure the receivers had a chance.... lmfao!!! XD

There are probably many plays like this where the defenders catch the ball or the pass is incomplete, but what we see here are mistakes for the defense and miracles for the offense.

I watched the Minnesota-Cleveland game! It became known as the "Miracle at the Met" because the Vikings came back from a 23-9 deficit in the 4th quarter, improbably scoring a touchdown and getting the ball back to score this final touchdown in the final two minutes or so. Ahmad Rashad scored both touchdowns on passes from Tommy Kramer, and at least as much as they showed on the television, he acted like he'd just got back from taking the dog for walk, he was so cool and calm after.

When I was a kid we lived very close to Washington D.C. in the early 70's and I seem to remember a Hail Mary from a back-up QB for the Dallas Cowboys named Clint Longly from about the 50 yd. line (last play of the game) to either beat or tie the Redskins.

Best college Hail Mary was LSU to beat Kentucky in 02-04. The throw was from one 25 to the other 25, tipped and caught and then run in for the TD. A 75 yard Hail Mary! It’s known as the bluegrass miracle.

The best one I saw was not a Hail Mary situation, but it was pretty impressive. In the early 70s, the Chicago Bears played a quarterback named Bobby Douglass. He was not a good quarterback, but he did have an extremely strong arm. The line of scrimmage on this play was the Bears 47. On the play, Jim Seymour was open on the back line of the end zone. As they were supposed to be doing, the San Diego defensive backs were playing up on about two or three yard line. The presumption, I suppose, is that if the ball was thrown into the end zone, it would be up for grabs and the the DB's could simply play the ball. Douglass, who was a good runner, was scrambling around behind the line of scrimmage. He saw Seymour on the back line waving his arms and let the ball go from about the Bears 33. He hit Seymour on the numbers with a ball that went more than 75 yards in the air. The distance is not unprecedented but the trajectory of the ball was pretty flat and the DBs had no time to react and try to play the ball. In decades of watching football, I have never quite seen a pass like that, not a ball that got that far that quickly. Douglass retired with a passer rating under 50. He did hold the single season rushing record for quarterbacks for several decades. Even Douglass himself says he should have been playing a different position in the NFL. He said tight end. Other have suggested tailback or strong safety.
