The 2024 US Open main draw runs from August 26 - September 8 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 144th time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Last year, Serbia's Novak Djokovic and United States' Coco Gauff claimed the men's and women's singles titles. It was Djokovic’s 24th Grand Slam title and Gauff’s first Grand Slam title. This year, at the US Open, we’re set for another spectacular tournament as the world’s best tennis players head to New York. After 2012 aus open finals match, this U.S. open 2011 finals is the best hard court match. Rafa wanted to win at least one final against Novak that year and Novak just was invincible. GOAT stuff.

The last 3 French Opens between Nadal & Novak had way less long rallies then 2011 U.S Open. How do you explain that when Clay is the slowest surface?

That's what makes his tweener so oustanding. The fact it's a tweener is nice in itself, though not exactly rare or entirely impressive, but that pace and it being a passing shot makes it absolutely outstanding.

But you’re incorrect in saying there’s no difference between greatest “points” and greatest “shots”. You said this is a list of the greatest shots, which it isn’t. If this was the greatest shots half of these wouldn’t have made it because they’ve mostly shown long rallies where most didn’t actually end in great shots

Have to disagree, both were great but the 6-5 rally had every shot in the book, the 4-3 rally had great baseline defense but that's it.

So much incredible creativity on display here. I love the long rallies and power shots, but my favorites are always those points where the best players come up with a spontaneous solution to a 1-in-a-billion problem. For example, Federer almost certainly never had to hit a defensive “topspin-slice-smash-lob” prior to making that remarkable shot. I’m just endlessly fascinated by the mind’s capacity spontaneously to generate a Frankenstein-like solution from the parts of related and more familiar movements-all in an instant.

3:10 Mistake here. This is Djokovic playing Ferrer, not Ferreira. Ferreira retired in 2005.

A bid NO to the Murray-Djokovic point from 2012. Love both guys, and yes 54 shots is amazing, but most of them are just pushed down the middle as they fight the wind, and it finishes with an unforced error? Every other year features a truly great shot.

Great points but definitely NOT the greatest points of the last hundred years which is the definition of the word Century. You started in 2001. The US Open goes back to 1881. So if you wanted to show the best points of the last 100 years you would need to start in 1924. If you meant the best points of the 21st Century then that is different, but say that.

The funny thing about Bathroombreakovic fans is that, if given the opportunity to magically copy all of Mole's or Federer strokes, they would 100% choose Fed's unless they're completely living in denial.
