On a serious note, this episode was wild. Such a game changing plot twist just dropped in the middle of another conversation, in THE BACKGROUND. In the manga, it's a tiny word bubble on the very edge of the page. Made literally everyone do a double take. With reveals in general, people usually expect it to be huge. Tension filled. Like Annie's. But this one was just so casual. Out of the blue. It was so unexpected. And at the same time, heavily foreshadowed. And that's what makes it so great. Side note, I love how Bertolt is just silently panicking at Reiner's current life choices throughout the whole episode

@@scorpiongurlz89 No the OP is correct, it's just the next day, remember that in 2x1 when we see the Cadets (Sasha Connie & co) it says "12h earlier" which means all we see of Sasha, Reiner, Connie, Bert, Krista and Ymir in 2x1-2x3 happens at the same time as the fight against Annie in Stohess. And after the crazy day they all had, they barely had any rest if not no rest at all during the night: the group at Utgard had like 1h of sleep before the titans appeared, and Hange's group spent the night traveling from Stohess to Ehrmich then Utgard. And now the next day, when they're all running on fumes, this happens! No wonder Reiner went a bit crazy...

Fun fact, by the time Annie had attacked during her first appearance as the female titan, Armin had already figured out it was her. When Armin, Reiner and Jean were stuck outside the wall with only two horses during that expedition, Armin offered to get left behind with one condition, that Reiner report something to command, directly to commander Erwin if possible. If Armin told Reiner that he knew Annie was the female titan, things would have turned out MUCH differently, but Historia came with an extra horse, and probably saved Armins life.

It’s interesting. Because if Reiner hadn’t admitted it all right then, he and Bert would have gotten trapped by the scouts and while they probably could have eventually escaped (especially with how huge the colossal is) A LOT more people would have died. Reiner said all this while Eren was standing next to him, at the edge of human territory, with less than a few dozen other soldiers around to intervene. A lot of people make jokes about how crazy he was for just randomly admitting everything, but honestly his timing couldn’t have been better.

I remember watching this episode the first time. After 4 years of rewatching multiple times season 1 they dropped finally season 2. I became attached with every side character in this time. I never noticed the small hints that Berthold and Reiner are the Colossal and the Armor. Even during the episode 2x6 when they said that they must have worked together with Annie I was like "No, these two are real bro's, sorry survey corps, you're wrong, do your research right". When Reiner literally said to Eren which titans they are I believed I misread the subtitles. But than the episode started to build up more and more and when they transformed I was in total disbelieve and shock. I felt like that I was feeling the same betrayel und sadness like Eren. When Eren started crying I said to my roommate "Dude! They need to die!" Eren transformed and I was ON FIRE! I imagine to think that I screamed just like Erens Titan 2 seconds ago when the episode ended because I had to wait A WHOLE FUCKING WEEK!! I love Attack on Titan. Btw, english is not my mother language, I hope you get everything I said.
