If we talking NRL history as in 1998 onwards, maybe, but at the end of 1994 Balmain released 21 players ahead of the 1995 season and signed twelve.

trying to keep my expectation's in check but man im keen for this season, honestly think our 1-6 is a top 4 backline, kiraz was in talks for an origin debut last year before he got injured. a lot of our forwards were playing injured, max king had a really good first half of the season but was clearly carrying an injury like most of the team later in the year, a lot to prove this season!

You missed completely or didn’t explain on here properly . Curran stated : while Cirro was at Penrith he designed a defence system which Penrith implemented. Webby was there as well , so he took that system ( that Cirro designed ) to the warriors , and obviously cirro brought the defensive system with him . Now warriors bought in , and look how they went . Panthers already bought in 3 years ago and look how they went . Bulldogs didn’t buy in . That’s why we go rid of a few . We had injuries so no one could really form combinations in attack or defence . Let’s talk facts and report accurately to make this podcast a success . #proudtobeabulldog

Watched / listened to both Ciraldo and Webster over the 2023 season . Webster has the rare ability to get players to listen then buy in - work very hard and play for him while Ciraldo .....................well yet to show he can = I think Warriors got the best one. Quoting what players say about coaches is fraught with danger as obviously they are not going to say anything negative.

Hi, Are you going to post on the podcast as well as KZbin? I like to listen when driving to work and I don’t want to use KZbin while driving.

welcome back lads. Here's my 2 bobs. A measure of success will be reducing the for and against deficit. Its important we don't listen to News Corp. Bulldogs are not making the 8 unless our forwards are in talk for Origin selections. More so King, KNight and Curran. We need to definitely roll as a pack bluey! Patolo and Sutton both injured. Sutton is a professional bench forward. Hopefully he can play that role when he returns. Patolo if can play 10 games back to back, you will see his potential. 112 KG prop that was as good as Lenui in 2018. Sam Hughes has footwork, offload and can penetrate but he needs back to back games. But lets get these signings into perspective. Gus and Cam are no where near close to the side they want even though they can afford it. Hopefully for fans sake, we are upgrading all 4 props and signing Terrell and Taylan May for 2025. Can fit both in. Its likely we are front loading contracts to make the cap minimum for 2024, which will free up approx 3.5 million for 2025 with about 2.5 million in players off contract. Blake Taaffe is in the style of Reece Walsh. Ball player, effort player, electric, and always there. Turpin, Mann, Taaffe, Salmon, Hutchison are all on less than 250 grand, 2 year deals. I expect only 3 of them to be part of the squad in 2026. This year development contracts are eligible from round 1. Meaning Morrin, Faumusili , Edwards are all eligible for selection from round 1. Fuamasili will join top 30 next year. We are looking at Sukula - Fifita who is recovering from injury but we need forwards for depth. Taylan May is electric. Penrith are not going to want to let him go. Watch his highlights in the world cup. He can hit hard too!! Final point, Ciraldo and Gus are far from finished. Chris Patolo is only on a 1 year deal. We have 4 props all off contract end of 2024. Only Sutton signed to 2025 and Faumausili who joins top 30 in 2025.

I appreciate it brother, thank you! I agree, our forwards need to aim up significantly. Don't discount how much Curran will bring, and an uninjured Kikau.

@thekennelpodcast on my podcast i named Curran, Tyrell May and a few others as must signings...way before they were in the media. Curran had plenty of big moments last year even though he felt it was a poor year. All effort. Kikau is similar. Issue for these guys perception is they do alot of off the ball work. Run decoys, have great line speed and squeeze edges. That can go pear shaped as they try too hard. Need the team and as you said " pack" to all do their job and trust each other.

G'day bluey. I'm not getting My hopes up with the bulldogs this year. I really don't think they will do much better than last year
@Rodderz_Now11 ай бұрын
I think they will do better , but not as good as we want . But watch out 2025 💙🤍

They have to do better than last year. We simply can't only win 7 games but by small margins and get towelled up every other week.

I feel we are looking like a more competitive side. Still lacking some experience and size in the forwards. I 💯 agree with the likes of Patolo, Hughes, Edwards and Morrin they are in for a big year. Love the podcast fellas. Tell Dibbo to keep the faith, his Dragons will be more competitive under Flanagan.

Feels a little like that sometimes. I have faith though. Surely it can't be as atrocious as last year, right?

The Dogs are likely to finish from 12th to 17th again. Unless our props are being considered for Origin and we have luck with injuries, that is where we will finish. That can be a pass mark. The added depth will mean our best and worst will be not as volatile as it was last year if we have injuries or some dont cut it. We have no 5 day turn arounds this year, and play alot more games at night or later in the day than we had in the last few years. Opposition in the draw is tough however we are much better looked after. Most sides we played last year got a longer break and as i said, we sweat more than any other team. Played in the hottest part of the day. These things are rarely looked at. Bluey your point about experience is also correct. Its the stat that the bookies dont want you to talk about. The team with the most games of experience and games played together wins over 90 percent of matches and only start favorite 60 percent of the time..gamble responsibly.

I disagree. Anything less than actually fighting for top 8 is a failure, in my opinion. Even if we don't make it, that's ok, but we need to be in the fight.
@Allthingsbulldogs11 ай бұрын
@thekennelpodcast as i said, it " can" be a pass mark. If they are competitive and in position to win games and have alot of close losses while snagging a few that can be improvement. Also, Ciraldo is coaching a style that is required to win. If the squad arent up to it, that will mean losses. All grades are playing the same style now and as you seen, the kids grades were full of quality players that could implement that style. As they develop and the few first graders emerge, they will have a more seamless entry. Im always hopeful but im expecting alot more pain and angry fans. Hopefully they are still in the fight come round 20. Last year we at least made round 15. Previous few seasons we were gone 10 rounds in.

Imagine this...Mahoney to Kikau, Burton, Crichton, Taaffe around the back draw and pass into Addo Carr.... Taaffe will calmly hit Fox , run himself or go back to any on that side easily. Crichton won't advance to the line as quickly nor is he as good backing up. Crichton will make 200 metres a game easily at fullback, but it will be through yardage and tackle 4. It may be what we require if the forwards are struggling for metres. We may need Crichton, Kiraz, making alot of yardage. Taaffe isnt a yardage fullback.
@thekennelpodcast11 ай бұрын
I get what you're saying, but by the same token, Taaffe is an attacking fullback, with a passing and kicking game. One of our biggest deficiencies last year was the backline play - we couldn't pull them off. With Taaffe there, I think our attack improves immensely. Also, Crichton can still do the tough carries out of our own half playing as a centre, so I'm sure Crichton won't be as stunted as people think.
