In that treble winning Barca season, they faced every champion in Europe as well. Not spoken enough about. Ajax, Juve, City, Bayern, PSG all demolished. Messi vs City and Messi vs Bayern are definitely up there with his most shaytan performance of all time. 2014-2015 Messi was the most complete I have ever seen in my life. He had EVERYTHING that year, complete master of the game, fit, fast, focused, decisive, etc. Truly on a different planet.

Messi was the best player of that game. But I am not sure how tha performance has become synonymous to Messi's greatest and not the 4-goal fest vs Arsenal in 2010 or the SF vs Bayern in 2015? Easily better performances that defied Messi more. Especially that performance vs Arsenal was the end of the previous era and the start of many thinking Messi as a GOAT candidate by 22 years old. He was that good.

Atletico thought they were done with him but he said come here. Personal favourite Fabregas vs Ac Milan. The defending champions at San Siro. No English team had ever beaten them at there. Midfield had Prime Pirlo, Gattuso and the ballon dore Kaka. Fabregas was the best player on the pitch by a distance bosses the game topped it off with a 30 yard screamer. Kante vs Man City final there must have been three of him on the pitch that day!

And this Arsenal might not be that great but they still finished 3rd in England that season and had the 5th best defense. If anyone could score a hat trick why didn't they? How did they annihilate Porto in the Ro16? And how many (like you f.e.) cream over Cristiano's double over that similar (and worse) Arsenal side in the previous season (08-09)?
