Hey Ryan thanks for the comment. Because prices are subject to change from season to season etc, we steer clear of mentioning cost in the videos as we don't want to mislead anyone. I've played quite a few of the courses in these parts of Spain. Its really difficult to find a bad one. The amazing Spanish weather is the real draw for most. Very good vlog. Its very important to give a good mix of prices to include everyone. Some of the top courses can be out of most peoples price range but you did a good job making it good viewing for everyone to relate to. Golf needs to be affordable. A lot of my friends have given it up. 2 reasons. Time and affordability. We all know golf is a great social game, you prove that in your videos. Keep up the good work Rory and co. Well done.

The problem with going to South Africa is that you wouldn't go just for the golf, the are so many things to see and do. You could easily be traveling around the country for 3 weeks without having played any golf. However fully agree that it would be a trip of a lifetime. Ah well, that bucket list just gets longer...... BTW when are you next in Spain?

Rory - Fantastic Andalucia vlogs. Especially your hybrid match featuring more coverage of Finca Cortesin, La Reserva & Almenara. Courses local to me. Interested that when comparing Finca Cortesin with La Reserva, you felt that Finca was more difficult. 'Brutal tough' to quote Mark. Obviously, static 'difficulty' stats for courses don't take into account external factors which dictate how it plays on any given day - such as pin positions, weather conditions, which side of the bed the golfer got out on etc etc. However, FWIW, I did my own analysis of the difficulty of some of the courses in the Sotogrande / Estepona area which I'm happy to share and essentially it shows that: Off yellows, Finca is slightly more difficult overall than Reserva (Slope Rating 136 v133). Valderrama is as difficult as Finca with the same Slope, but nearly 500m shorter. But off reds, Reserva is a little more difficult (126 v 124). Furthermore, off reds, both these courses are the least difficult of all courses in the area based on Slope Rating. Again off yellows, the course difficulty for scratch golfers (calculated by Course Rating) is the same at each course (71.4 compared with par 72). So a scratch golfer might be expected to go round in level or maybe -1. For bogey golfers (men with handicap 20, ladies 24) they are similarly difficult off yellows and you would expect to shoot around 96, or +24, at both courses. Not the most difficult in the area (San Roque Old 99, or +27). So, given their price point is pretty similar too, I would say that one course is neither more difficult or expensive than another. Golfers of whatever standard should be encouraged to try both courses out if they are down this way. Simply put, after Valderrama, they really are the other 2 stand out courses in the area. I have the course difficulty stats available for anyone who is interested. Cheers!

I think the fact that we always play off the very back tees plays a part in our opinion, as well as the fact that we only got a very small sample size of each course to compare. From the tips the holes we played at Finca seems to offer less margin for error from the tee. It seemed like myself and Lockey could get away with the odd well timed off the planet drive at La Reserva whereas on the holes at Finca, those shots would simply result in a reload from the tee. As you'll know we always like to point out there are plenty of tees to play from at each course...as long as golfers find their comfort zone they'll have great fun which is the main thing! Good points Rory. With 6 different tees at Finca, and 5 at La Reserva there is ample scope to choose a length to suit. And especially at Finca there's an abundance of soft landscaping (fauna and flora) around the different teeing areas to maximise the visual impact. Cheers

Mate all the courses look top shelf I just wish I had the time and money to go and play them all, as far as other countries, while I'm Australian and I think we have some awesome courses over here, New Zealand has some of the most beautiful courses I think you will find the world over...don't tell the other aussies I said that, also I have listened to podcasts and seen footage of Scotland and Ireland which have some nice tracks...shit maybe got to China and do 18 of their million beautiful courses.
