When it comes time to overhaul it's really the way to go. Someone will want the firewall forward, overhaul a core and install. The fat tires might not help much but they sure look good.

The Lycoming O-360 conversion is perhaps the best compromise for the 108. Good HP with a CS prop, no extra weight, no CG shift, and the same fuel burn. Which STC are you going with? Very interested to see videos on this conversion!

I found the CS prop added quite a by it of weight so I decided on the solid crank and a ground adjustable prop. The plane should lose some weight and the CG should shift aft. Fingers crossed.

How do you get a Super Stinson? First you pay the value of the plane in an STC so that you can have permission. Second you pay twice the value of the plane to put a 540 and a new prop on the plane. Or you just by a Maule! 😎
