In 2010 I umpired his daughter Natalia's softball game here in Newport Beach. She was eight years old at the time. I spoke to Kobe every half inning for 2 1/2 hours. Same thing the following week. Took a picture with him, and it hangs in my classroom. He was a wonderful human being. We all make mistakes. He bounced back and impacted others greatly. He worked with kids here in SoCal in private, impacting them dramatically. I pray that he is in heaven now. RIP Kobe, Gianna, Coach Altobelli, and all others who died all too soon. Great video with a great message.

I fucking love Kobe The fact that his hustle, grind, hardwork payed off and became an iconic player makes him very unique. He's the quote "hardwork beats talent if talent fails to work hard" itself. I love him for being so passionate about working hard, that it doesn't only apply to basketball but also in life. If you loved the hustle instead of whining about bullcrap, life gets so much easier.
