Greatness Has A Cost: Kobe's retirement marked the end of an era, but his legacy continues to inspire. His relentless pursuit of perfection, even in the face of adversity, serves as a testament to the idea that greatness truly does have a cost. It's not just about the hours of practice or the physical toll it takes; it's about the mental fortitude to push beyond one's limits, to sacrifice immediate pleasures for long-term achievements, and to maintain an insatiable hunger for improvement. This video, coming after Kobe's retirement and before his tragic passing, stands as a reminder of his impact not only on basketball but on the culture of success itself. It challenges us to ask ourselves what we're willing to give up in order to reach our highest potential. As Jaret Grossman eloquently puts it through the lens of Kobe's journey, the road to greatness isn't paved with ease but with the stones of hard work, resilience, and an unyielding drive to be better than yesterday. In a world that often seeks instant gratification, this message is more important than ever. It's a call to embrace the process, to find joy in the grind, and to understand that every setback is a setup for a comeback. Kobe's story encourages us to rise above our circumstances, to set lofty goals, and to put in the work required to achieve them. As we reflect on this video and the lessons it imparts, let's honor Kobe's memory by committing to our own paths of greatness, whatever they may be. Let's remember that while the cost may be high, the reward of fulfilling our true potential is priceless. 🏀💜💛

To even question it is insane. He constantly won, proved everyone wrong, was robbed of an MVP or 2, and win 5 rings? The triangle doesn't work without a killer like Kobe. He played the same role in Phil's triangle, and won 5 rings... Pretty solid.

Kobe transcended the game of basketball. His will and motivation knew no boundaries. This video changed the way I viewed life when I saw it years ago. It motivated to become the best version of myself. While it wasnt on the basketball court, I applied his philosophy to my own goals and it has propelled me to a level I could not imagine before. The best we can do is honor his legacy by never giving up and giving all that we can to whatever it is we are trying to accomplish. RIP Kobe.

But it is only now that we truly appreciate him, his life, his values...RIP Kobe.

Christian Sims /Artist This happens to be one of the smartest comments on here. Hopefully not. If you do it right, it will be a challenge..but if it is your purpose as opposed to something you want irregardless of whether it was your mission or not (i.e. - just because you want rewards), then it will cost you hard work and won’t require any sacrificing of a sound moral compass. Not everyone does it the right way the way people think they do. Learn from the greats but keep the INTENT pure in your own quest and it shouldn’t cost you what you’re referring to.

@@JARBLYTV Thankyou and whole heartedly agree. You're passion and dedication will bring the rewards, and riches and it might not be right away but it will come. I heard this more times than not. Plus people who have a lot money and material things said it's still dosent fill that void.
@JARBLYTV
@JARBLYTV 4 жыл бұрын
Christian Sims /Artist Making money is necessary (in this time in this sphere), but hopefully there’s a lot of good reasons behind it, knowing it’s not just you behind it. If done the right way, it’s not necessarily a void but a lot more choice and options. What you do with the larger array of options should still be in the name of good.
@haloed-hero
@haloed-hero 4 жыл бұрын
@@JARBLYTV yes u believe money can be used for quicker access, and can be used for so much good . I guess I was talking when money is attained for just material things, and many privy possessions that the buyer disent necessarily need. How bout just donate some or renovating a homeless shelter. I guess if I had a lot of money I would get myself somethin but I be think about huge food drives, paying off hospital Bill's. Creating small business for the community or in gentrified areas.
@JARBLYTV
@JARBLYTV 4 жыл бұрын
Christian Sims /Artist Many people attain money for the sake of itself and possessions and the power it will have over others. Sometimes the trail of what we naively think is good done by other people is really just a system devised for more money and control. And sometimes things we think are “good” falsely prevent people from being self sufficient or doing good themselves. Intentions are what matter and hopefully will be rewarded like they should be. This world is incredibly complex.

In 2010 I umpired his daughter Natalia's softball game here in Newport Beach. She was eight years old at the time. I spoke to Kobe every half inning for 2 1/2 hours. Same thing the following week. Took a picture with him, and it hangs in my classroom. He was a wonderful human being. We all make mistakes. He bounced back and impacted others greatly. He worked with kids here in SoCal in private, impacting them dramatically. I pray that he is in heaven now. RIP Kobe, Gianna, Coach Altobelli, and all others who died all too soon. Great video with a great message.

I fucking love Kobe The fact that his hustle, grind, hardwork payed off and became an iconic player makes him very unique. He's the quote "hardwork beats talent if talent fails to work hard" itself. I love him for being so passionate about working hard, that it doesn't only apply to basketball but also in life. If you loved the hustle instead of whining about bullcrap, life gets so much easier. Entrepreneurs know this "loving the hustle" well, it really works. Kobe Bryant will always be my favorite player in the league. He did it, gone through it, got it, proved himself. So much inspiration.

I've watched a lot of youtube videos. To me, this is the best video of youtube. It just tells how to live a life. Thanks Kobe. From a french person who doesn't know about basketball. Your message is way beyond your sport.
