GReddy's R33 GT-R, Built to Go 300+ km/h in 1995

GReddy Performance and Trust are known as gods in the tuning industry for a reason. Kenji Sumino, who helms GReddy, and his team of badass engineers, were tasked to build out the newest GT-R (at the time) to be able to run over 180mph in the Yatabe Top Speed Time Trials. That might not sound too crazy today, but we're talking about the year 1995, which is basically Season 1 of the tv show Friends. Also, sparkle paint job.

At a “sleep over” as a kid we did the endurance racers trying to save up for the polyphony f1 car, when we where all asleep a friend spent all the money on the wrong car. Still makes me laugh to this day

I lost count of the amount of times I did that endurance race in the F1 car but my brother thought I bought a GameShark to get a money cheat. I wish I had the same patience for games these days! Even GT7 doesn’t quite do it for r compared to back when I was a kid.

Pushing 900 hp, 10k rpm, old tech for the injectors and boost, still got HICAS, the fuel pumps... The mechanical and electrical parts are crazy already for a late nineties car. Adding to that all the visual mods, this is an absolutely incredible build and It's super cool it remained in great shape and almost complete 25+ years later

They are 33 has always been my favorite. I like its muscular look better than the 32 and a 34 looks kind of bulky. That transmission sounds like one of my first cars I'm an older guy so my first car was a 71 Nova with a 427 Corvette motor and a Muncie 4 speed Rock crusher transmission. It made a wine just like that when you drove it straight cut gears no synchronizers. Bravo for keeping this classic alive I've always admired Kenji's buids and can't wait to see how this gets restored and finished out

I remember this car being featured in Max Power magazine in the U.K in (I think) '98... I'd seen Skyline GT-R's before, and I'd seen metal flake paint before but only on hotrods and lowriders, never on a tuned, Japanese super coupe, as a 12yr old car nut I was utterly blown away by every aspect of the build... Loved watching this video and remembering that era of JDM car building, when four figure power numbers were almost unheard of, and a sequential box was the most amazing thing ever... Good times, great cars!!! Thank you Larry for the awesome feature.

This is what a SEMA build would he like back in the 90's. No detail is unfinished, and they actually performed. They wouldn't even have considered incomplete builds like a missing driveshaft and such back in the times of this show car build.

95' was a great year for Japanese cars. i own 2 vehicles from Nissan that are a 95 my Hardbody truck its a 4x4 5 speed manual with the LSD rear end and my 95' S14 that is built :) and i got a 75' 280Z also that i have been refreshing it has a lot of parts that needs replaced. r33 HICAS actually works very well, unless you are drifting the car there is not a need to delete it. Much much much more reliable and less wonky than the r32 HICAS.

Kenji as been in the back ground on many à build. This was great to see how , Kenji,got to be where he is. When I saw him first in 2015 with Sung Kang , I thought here is Kenji coming to Cali being bank rolled , and opened his shop. This video changes everything , I assumed from what I saw From Florida, on, KZbin. I'm not in Cali Kenji should be more, in front he has plenty experience .
