They really do look great, but honestly, those bohroks look far more terrifying compared to the original, really cool and yeah, I too think that the Alien/Geiger-like redesign brings them much closer to the biomechanical side.

Those tubes in purple and teal are in one of the older programming sets. I have a few of those tubes cause an engineering teacher of mine didn't want them anymore and they're great for detailing

Ngl, this is actually how I saw the Bahrag when I was a kid. Sure, we had the mechanical look irl, but this is what I thought they'd look like.

the one flaw of this design vs the origional is it's just an organic shape made out of inorganic shapes. What made Bionicle Bionicle was the gears and pistons and things that prevented us from labeling the completed figure as either creatures or machines and these lack that. These are both in a very geiger-esque way like you said, Bionicle was neither in a way never seen before or since.

There’s a lot of neat inspiration for them. One I reckon are the Geno Saurer and Geno Breaker from the Zoids series.

I also love the size difference between the two; Cahdok is smaller and ganglier with all the exposed tubes, while Gahdok appears to be the bulkier alpha of the duo. Even the colors match this dynamic. Insect colonies with multiple queens usually have a dominance hierarchy between the royals, with the larger and healthier queens receiving more attention from the colony than the smaller ones.

I wouldn't personally describe these as Gigeresque just because they don't quite have enough.. phallic design elements, which is kind of a big deal for HR Giger's art.
