I grew up similarly growing to Greece every summer for like the whole summer and everything hes saying is true. Early years parents debating whether to move back, the post Greece depression in the fall, the economic toll on my Dad over the years, subconscious competition between parents and uncles/aunts in Greece, grandparents making you cry as you leave saying theyre going to die while were in America lol all facts

He has to walk a fine line between his academic work and his interest/experience in clandestine chemistry and I think an interview with Ari on his travels would be great way to pull some epic stories on the latter.

Much love from a dirty Albanian/Sephardic to Stavros! I completely related to him when he was speaking about experiencing ancient sites, Europe truly is gorgeous it’s almost like an out of body experience. You truly do realize how insignificant and can’t help but feel incredibly grateful to be there and to be one with everything, even if it is for a mere second in comparison to its timeline. I miss many places in Europe and definitely miss the quality of food!

Mushr00m travel: grind them up, put them in gel caps, put them in a vitamin bottle. When you get to your destination add the powder to lemon juice, let it sit and soak for 15-20 minutes. Strain the powder (or don’t) and enjoy a real quick heavy onset of your journey without the stomach irritation. No one needs bubble guts in a foreign area.

I spent 6 months in Athens, pre Euro. Did my grade 4 there. To this day, I’ll never forget how great the food was. I still crave the gyros I’d get from this little hole in the wall by my apartment. Was never able to find a gyro that good since. Loved the bazaars too. I remember goody’s as well. One thing very weird about that place was I’d get kicked out of arcades for some reason. They didn’t care if I was in a bar but got kicked out of arcades. To this day I don’t know what that was all about… strange country. Very curious what it’s like now
