Damn guys, this restaurant is pretty damn good, everything looks finely made. When I see videos of greek cuisine away from Greece everything seems really unapettizing but these guys are putting a very good effort! Big ups!
@LinyraPia8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that is true, most of the videos from Greek restaurants abroad seem to have very unappetizing food. In this video, the melitzanosalata looked too runny, the baklava could have been baked a little longer and there was too much olive oil but that's nothing. Other than that, the food actually looked pretty good!

This is great guys! As a Greek-Aussie I am prud of that restaurant, they surely did the cuisine proud and it seems like you had a great variety of soups, stews, grilled, fried and fresh foods, and two traditional desserts! BTW the dessert has an i in it, it should be pronounced "Ka-ta-i-fi" with the accent on the i. Videos like this make me smile, I wish you guys could try homemade Greek food, I think you'll die of happiness!!!!! Anyway, plz keep making cool videos :)

A splendid presentation and i am very glad you enjoyed our cuisine !!!💞 I am a greek living in Greece all my life and i like cooking a lot. I am writing so to be helpful on each i saw on your video. Tzatziki sauce : Strained cow yoghurt. Cucumber trimmed but squeezed so to leave out the fluid so for the sauce to be consistent-firm. Vinegar. A lot of garlic (a lot, enough so to pinch a little in taste. The yoghurt and the rest will refresh you on the same time). Dill (enough to balance the garlic pinch, you add and add so to taste the balance needed). Salt. Pepper. The word "OPA" isn't cheers. Cheers is "GIA MAS" and means "to our health". If you address to one person so to say cheers, you say "STIN IGÍA SOU" and you mean "to your health".. ..meaning this drink is to wish you health. You can always drink and not say greek cheers (gia mas, stin igia sou) but, wish him/her/them to anything ...to your daughters birth, to your new job etc...but you might hear greeks wishing to someone this sip of drink and then say again GEIA MAS. We are extreme and wholehearted when we go out ...what can i say ! Anyways... OPA is a greek made-up word that is said when you react towards something. You mostly hear OPA in Greece when someone reacts something he hears and doesn't accept it...an expression nof objection (like : "HOLD ON...what ?" Hold on is not said.. OPA is said instead so to express hold on or stop it), OPA also can be heard when the dads throw upwards their baby kid so to make it feel happy and the baby cheer/smile about it ...they say OPA. To hear the word OPA when dancing isn't usual on Greece but rare times when they want to make fun ....meaning : greek kids that listen rap and suddenly a car passed that has greek music played ...the kids will make fun of it and dance like greek and say OPA ...it is to have fun at the moment. It is also said when to express something good planned ..... OPA we are going to Hawaii ...yeah ! OPA ! Generally, it is said so to express a positive happy reaction of our feelings that just occured. Sausage is "loukaniko" and they are made with many spices and herbs so they indifferent from usual other sausages. Mousaka is aubergines, potatoes and minced meat (same as the Bolognese minced meat sauce is but we add some more herbs and spices) and the cream on top is the bechamel sauce. The greek yogurt you see is the strained cows that i have mentioned before (that you make tzatziki)..if you come to Greece and request greek yogurt, you will be guided to a yogurt that is not that thick, it is more juicy, it is sold mostly within 500gr clay bowls (nowadays you can find smaller ones in plastic but, it tastes better in the clay bowl and you have a clay bowl so to use it and bake food in it later...a smart buy!), has a thin crust on top (because of its fermentation) and is usually made of sheep milk (you can find goat milk etc also now) ...the original greek yogurt is this and it is a medicinal yogurt also because it is good for the stomach and intestine area due to its natural fermentation process. Baklava is one of the desserts since ancient Greece that still remains till today (this dessert and, the dessert "Kóliva" which is continued to be given in funerals so to sweeten the grief ..koliva was an ancient dessert and it was given after funerals since then and until today). The original name was Gastrin and it was made mostly in Minoan ancient Greece (island of Crete now). Again... I wish you well ! So happy you have enjoyed our cuisine and hope you taste more in the future ! Be always healthy and happy !!

I happen to watch many food vlogs and what i've noticed as a Greek guy is that when people try Greek food they usually don't go to the right places. It is so important to find a place where they have quality ingredients and prepare and cook their food they way they are supposed to. It is only then when you can get the real experience of a certain cuisine. Otherwise you just ticked a check-box that says "Greek cuisine" or whatever and nothing more. I'm happy to say that this is not the case here. As far as i can tell all the plates are very well made and have quality ingredients. I'm a bit sceptical about the desserts though, the baklava seems like it needed a little more baking and syrup. The ekmek kataifi (which happens to be my favorite dessert) looks nice, but it could have more pastry cream. I don't like the fact that the pastry cream is as thick as the whipped cream. To be fair the cheesecake (not so typical in Greek cuisine, but still i love it) looks great and the yogurt looks thick and tasty. Overall the place seems to do justice to the Greek tastes (although you forgot to try souvlaki, which is a major omission) and i would definitely go there to give it a try... ps. You should have ordered wine and/or beer with your food. Don't kill your taste with lemonade and similar stuff...
