When we were young years ago, we used to travel to the islands on the decks with sleeping bags. There were special techniques developed by experience on finding the right place to spend the night without the wind on οur faces. We knew exactly the kind of clothes we had to have in order not to be cold. We used to despise the people who sat inside or traveled first class or even worse rented cabins. The fun we had, the flirting, the laughter, the songs! Such amazing memories! And of course the food had to be brought in from outside. :)

Is this between the greek islands? Thats crazy and aweesome!

Daneger and Stacey exactly. This is still the travel between the lesser known islands of the small Cyclades. Take care.

That was the fun of it....Greek island hopping and deck class, we considered it as an experience and not a hassle, that's the mindset you need to have when travelling the islands.....Aaaa the memories of our younger years.🇬🇷🛳️🇬🇷

Hey guys it's nice to see you guys in greece, I just came back from there, yes greece is beautiful, has the food, good weather beaches and lifestyle, just enjoy yourselves as each island has its own beauty. Just be very wary of Mykonos and Santorini, expect to pay rip off prices for everything in prime locations, there's no real value for money on these popular islands, so look at the menu's for prices. And watch out for the double menu, one for the tourists and one for the Greeks. Enjoy your stay and go with the flow

I'm a coffee lover, but I wouldn't pay that much for one. Taking food and a drink is a good tip in general, if you go on public transport. You see Mercedes taxi's all over Portugal, and they're not too expensive. I'm envious of where you're staying now, but Santorini has been at the top of my visit list for years. Maybe one day ;-)
@DanegerAndStacey6 жыл бұрын

So normally a Freddo espresso , is ice cubes and shot of espresso , then they use some kind of milk shaker to crush the ice cubes which gives u the creamy texture on top. Freddo Cappuccino is basically the same idea , just this time u just shake the milk and put that on top of your espresso . And then there is frappé which a lot of Greeks drink , but that’s pre packed stuff from Nestle and then they also put it in a shaker , but that is no “real” coffee ... Anyway , great video !

The boast prices are exorbitant! Unfortunately, getting around the islands by boat is the cheapest way - but it isn't cheap anymore! I took ''upper-deck'' a few times and had a blast.Plenty of people moving around the islands as cheap as possible. Have fun...but not too much 👍👍
@DanegerAndStacey6 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's a little silly now isnt it, everything is so incredibly overpriced! You do sort of get what you pay for with accom etc, but 4 euro coffees are a joke!
@CambodiaNomadTips6 жыл бұрын
I agree with you about the 4 euro coffee. Because it's a ship, and you're in the ''happy holiday'' mood, you don't mind spending - until the end of the holiday you watch one of your videos to know you've been ripped of.Did I say ripped off?....Or did I mean to say that all tourists are stupid and pay the price? Happy travels and keep the adventure alive. ''Am I buggin' ya? I don't mean to bug ya....''

Mykonos is a barren rock where the wind blows and blows! Overpriced, overrated, and yet it is a party island but only during the summer months. Go there in the winter and you won't find anything open and you will see no people walking around! We have so many beautiful islands, I don't know why Mykonos gained popularity. Syros is barren too but at least it has winter time life. Santorini on the other hand it is amazing like another planet, like a lost civilization... it is a volcano and the city it's built on the top of the crater (what is left of it. the rest is under the sea together with its caldera)
@DanegerAndStacey4 жыл бұрын

So much easier and quicker to fly to Santorini or Mykonos from Athens and cheap if you book in advance. Then take ferries to island hop to the smaller islands close by. Enjoy your family get together!!!
@DanegerAndStacey6 жыл бұрын
We actually don't agree - flights are a pain in the ass from small airports, extra baggage costs, hot and crammed, always delayed and less comfortable. Price wise they generally end up about the same and take a very similar amount of time, but flying has more fluff with checking in and security etc.

How to go about finding your ferry at the dock? The ferry dock looks pretty big with many ferries. How far is the subway station to the dock? You didn't explain these issues on the videos.

What fascinates me more about tourism is that even though we study a lot in order to be prepared, in most of cases we will do things that locals wont. For Ex. You bought coffee and Koulouri from Everest (first mistake) and inside the vessel (second mistake). This combination is almost dangerous my friend hahaha. I make the same little mistakes when I travel abroad. I know that not all people care about these little tips but please do not buy anything inside vessels which are heading to greek islands. Bad quality - high price. Please dont let them fool y. I hope you had great time in Greeece. cheeeers
