19Railfan95 Let me tell you, this station has either totally positive or negative critics by railfans, it looks futurisic, you see. Desiro EMU's, on the other hand, are much appreciated as fast, comfortable and good looking trains, i like them too! Thank you so much!

I like Athens airport. Been there a couple of times with flights to and from UK. Also used the rail service into central Athens about 10 years ago. Now planning to visit Corinth this summer and hear that I can get a train direct from the airport to Corinth. Do you know if that is true? Good video by the way, well done.
@Trainsforlife898 жыл бұрын
+borjastick Hello there, thank you so much for the comment! Of course, there is a direct service to Kiato, once every hour. Corinth is the station before the terminus at Kiato. The electronic displays would indicate "Kiato", that would be your direct train to Corinth. I hope you enjoy your stay in Greece everytime!
@apostolosstamenaa39158 жыл бұрын
Hi , just to inform you , of course you can go from airport to straight to Corinth! And you can do it by using Suberban Railway (proastiakos) which goes has a line starting from The airport and finishing to Kiato. Its very easy to take Suburban from airport. as you sow on the video there are 2 train companies. 1) Metro which takes you to central Athens, and 2) Suburban Train (proastiakos) which takes you to suberbs of Athens. and Its goes to Corinth too! Its a 50 minite ride and you will really enjoy the trip!

Why do the trains use 2 pantographs?
@Trainsforlife896 жыл бұрын
Desiro EMUs for Greece were made that way. They feature two separate traction converters, so they need two pantographs for supplying the power to them.

@Trainsforlife897 жыл бұрын

We have a chance to hear the similar sound in Tokyo, Japan (--> kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXzGe59sqLVmeJo). This red train is well known as a train singing. It equips the system manufactured by SIEMENS, which generates the sound like a musical scale. Unfortunately, KEIKYU railway company operating the red train has decided to replace with the another system due to the maintenance reason. The number of this train is decreasing.

@Trainsforlife897 жыл бұрын

@Trainsforlife895 жыл бұрын
@XBGamerX202 жыл бұрын
@PanosSkarp2 жыл бұрын

That all was built just before 2004 with funds and money given by the rich,adnvaced,Western Europe countries.Greece is decades behind northern/western countries however before 2004 was literally in Middle Ages.greece is a purely Balkan country that looks and feels more of a Balkan/middle eastern country than anything else.the lifestyle,habits,cuisine the way people look and dress.even greeks favorite music is a form of belly dance.

Excuse me, coal burning trains???? And how exactly are trains made in 2006 and 2003 respectively old?
@philipposphilippou28445 жыл бұрын
You are so mean! Why don't you comment on what seeing on this very video instead? Truth is that the extremely mountainous Greek inland has not favoured the evolution of railways, so airports and planes have been used more in the past years for transportation between Greece's continental cities. For example to built the modern railway line from Athens to Northern Greece which has been recently put in service , among lots of other things like building hundreds of bridges and minor tunnels they had to construct one of the biggest tunnels in Europe, and that is in a country which can no way geographically be a terrestrial international railway or highway junction. But "coal burning trains?" How can you be so ugly and defame a country describing as it is still in the 50's? And why do you say nothing about the great progress that has been made in the recent years? When plus to the fantastic modern highways which have been built and are still being built everywhere in the country, the big railways projects are in progress with the high speed line Patras-Athens- Salonica- Border almost ready? So shut the fack up when you are up to defaming a country!

Well we don't give a fuck about your *F R E N C H, S P A N I S H or G E R M A N* fast trains. As long as those trains we have here are good for us. And sorry for being a small country, we have to get imperialistic or what? Colonize Africa and sell those people as slaves as France did so that we become a big country? Mind your business miserable prick. Do we really have to get trains that go like 600 km/h which you don't have (japan does) to go across 500km not including that Greece is 80% mountainous. I'm sure if we did so you would again complain that we are stupid and we are spending a lot of money on that kind of stupid projects (which we didn't do). You northerns always find reasons to criticize shitty south countries and you always have to feel superior over others that's the only thing that satisfies you.
