Greek short films for language learners (slow Greek with subtitles)

Watching a film is such a cool way to achieve language immersion. You actually absorb more than you realize. Unfortunately, there are just a few Greek movies online but guess what...
There are plenty of short movies!
For me, short films are a very special film species. They try to capture difficult meanings and social problems within a minimum of time. Now about language learning, I consider it an excellent tool. Mostly because they're bringing you into contact with a variety of characters. Young children, women, men, young people, older people from different backgrounds. They sometimes speak slowly, sometimes faster, more casual or more academic, and all within less than half an hour. So you can watch every movie over and over again.
But lately, I've noticed that the collections of short films have been enriched.
So, here is my new updated list:

Although I understand why some would like this idea, I would like to just give another perspective 😊 I would ask that eng/greek subtitles *aren't* added to the actual video file as I really like the challenge of seeing what I can understand without any subs first and then adding greek and then adding English for a 3rd time if necessary 😊 I'm not sure if there is the option for simultaneous greek/English subs with the subtitles button on KZbin ( if there is, then this idea is great) but I would really like for the videos to not have subtitles on the actual video file itself I hope you don't mind my comment here, I just wanted to add another point of view from a high beginner/very low intermediate learner 😊

@@claire_450 I do something similar, I watch it with English subtitles, firts I focus on listening to Greek words while reading English, twice, then watch the video without subtitles. Watching the video without subtitles and trying to remember the words or even figure out the general idea is useful I guess, that's how babies learned how to talk.

@@jewishwish6973 I'm glad you found what works for you 😊 different things work for different people and that's why I like that there aren't subtitles ingrained into the video file I really enjoy absorbing the sounds of the language without English subs because it has forced me out of my comfort zone (whereas I didn't do this with Spanish, my first foreign language, and my listening skills were awful for a long time) Good luck with your continued Greek studies! 😊

Juli you are the best, Im really enjoying your Yutube channel and every lessonl. However this time I have just realize,that my skills after over two years learning greek are not sufficient and very week, very disappointing,I guess Im getting to old or greek language is so difficult to learn .I will keep trying anyway.English is my second language but i have never face so much difficulty learning. Greek words are so similar and sounds almost the same ,this is my the biggest obstacle and chalenge , any tips ? Valdi

Well practice makes perfect so continue trying and repeating! Learn songs in greek and watch greek movies with english subtitles or greek cartoons for children with english subtitles! ΚΑΛΗ ΕΠΙΤΥΧΙΑ!

Υπέροχο! Μου άρεσαν πολύ οι ταινίες στο άλλο βίντεο, οπότε ανυπομονώ να δω αυτές τις μικρού μήκους 👍😉. Πρόσφατα άρχισα να βλέπω παλιά επεισόδια της σειράς της Χάιντι, γιατί μπορώ να τα δω και στα ισπανικά πριν 😁. Έχω δει και ένα επεισόδιο αυτής της σειράς: Αστέρας Ραχούλας, και Στο καλό, γλυκιά μου συμπεθέρα 🙄.

unfortunately subtitles are in English, that is: quite useless. I don know why most of the best greek videos are without greek subtitles, it'a a shame in my opinion
