Green acres was hilarious. As was the Beverly hillbillies. The humor was out of this world! 🙏

I flew on my first flight from the Duncan, Ok. airport in '61 when I was 7. It wasn't much larger than Pixley Int. and the plane we flew in was a DC-3 tail dragger like the one in the clip. Our first landing was at Love Field in Dallas, where I saw the kind of airport like the ones in the movies.

That's the great character actor Dave Willock as the ticket agent - he appeared in nine GA episodes. He had a long career in tv and film comedies and dramas including bits in WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE? and YANKEE DOODLE DANDY.

Reminds me of the days when I worked for Big Sky Airlines. We flew from Billings, Miles City, Glendive, Sydney, Montana, Williston, Bismark, Jamestown, North Dakota, and Minneapolis, Minnesota. The return trip was the reverse routing. We would announce "Now boarding Big Sky flight 102 at Gate B3 in the Lower B Concourse." This was back in 1980. Those were the days.

"International Airport", Pixley must be near the Canadian border. I have been to an Airport near the Canadian/U.S. airport, the place had two gates, but because it served Canadian traffic, it was an international airport.

Why did they spoil this scene by putting the child actress in a dress so short that her panties were showing? Dresses and skirts of the 1960s were short, so that knees and some thigh would be revealed...just not so short that underwear would be on display. I could have enjoyed this scene, except for wondering about the intentions of director and producer.

Oh man, as a kid I loved this along with Petticoat Junction. But watching them know makes me cringe. I can understand why the studio had the big rural purge in the early 70's. These shows were the original beginnings of the dumbing down of America....

Oh sure, bring in the blood and gore instead, right? Once film came to play, on theaters and TV, was the beginning of the distractions/brainwashing. This show can be incredibly stupid but also some very good writing. It was very vaudevillian, which done correctly takes a higher i.q. for it's genre. That being said, if every world leader watched something like this and the Beverly Hillbillies, I don't think that there would be the needless violence going on. It didn't promote anything bad, although as a kid, Mr Haney really irritated me and Mr. Douglas had too short of a fuse. Eva Gabor was wonderful and Arnold, well, it was all about the pig. It's corny and I lovvvvve corny!!!

That's because CBS wanted a more urbanized audience. And today, they are catering only to the 18-49-year -old crowd.
