This show was an unsung hero representing all things funky. Such an underrated show! It's like Oliver was in the twilight zone. I love the guy who played the county extension agent.

Kimball was the weakest link. Some of moments were great, but too many times it was just stupi.d silliness.

@@mas5867 Wel, I thought the same thing about that damn pig, but apparently it was a fan favorite so they ended up structuring a lot of plotlines around it. Me, I got sick of it (and hungry for bacon) after one or two episodes.

@G Guest I think one of the funniest things about the show was sometimes they wouldn't let Oliver finish a sentence. Then there was: Everybody could understand Arnold but him. Climbing the pole to answer the phone. The Monroe Brothers: Alf and Ralph Monroe. Everybody laughed (even out of towners) when they found out that Oliver bought the old Haney place.

Saw her in person in LA at a mall back in the 70's. She was in the cosmetic department part of some ad event. She left in a rolls. I was about 13 at the time.

I got to meet her when she was in You can't take it with you back in 83. I remember telling her I saw her on dance fever. She said "That was fun. " I told her that she should have danced. She said that they didn't ask her to.

Pert sure it's a 1925 Dodge Bros truck. There're just spoofing the government requirement for seat belts on new trucks. There was no retrofit order on old ones.

Paul Henning didn't simply create a reverse Beverly Hillbillies, instead he brilliantly realized Green Acres as theater of the absurd. I find it fascinating that Lisa Douglas is the one character who is equally at home in both ecosystems--sophisticared NY and insane Hooterville. From an evolutionary standpoint this makes her the "fittest" (means "most adaptable") member of her species.

That was the ingenious thing about her character -- at first she was the one who hated, more than anything else, the very idea of moving to the country -- and then she ended up not just loving it but actually helping Oliver adjust to it, and encouraging him to stay when he couldn't handle it anymore.

I personally met Mr. Kimball (Alvy Moore) in 1994, he passed away in 1997. I personally told him that he played my favorite character on the show! He was a very fine gentleman!
