I really love your attitude on your farming practices.. I wish ALL farmers had that same view as you about putting the food onto people's table.. Keep the faith.. I am now a subscriber.. Keep the vids coming..

Could you do a video on your planter.. what bean cups do you use and what seed rate? Also what fertilizer do you use.. also what’s the boxes on the back of the planter? Thx so much!

I have 6 or 8 videos on that particular planter. For green beans and baby lima I use the “edible bean cup.” Fertilizer blend is per the soil sample analysis. The boxes on the back are for insecticide (Temik, Thimet, etc)

I switch the bottoms from cups to plates to plant peas and okra (multiple videos of the switching process and pea and okra planting process as well as seeding rates for each), and I have corn bottoms I put on to plant popcorn, sweet corn, and field corn.

As far as your Hog problem, how about doin some hog hunts? City people pay good $ to hunt most anything.. I personally would love to come down there and hunt some hogs and I'm not even close to being from the city... I'm a country boy from Western NY. Great vid.. Thanks for bringing us along..

Hogs don’t pattern like deer and turkeys do. They may come out in the field one night and ruin it and may not return for 6 months. Sometimes they set in for 5-6 days in one spot. You never know.

Growing for taste is hard. The Mexicans and So Florida and Tifton area growers get tremendous yields. I graft and grow heirloom Tomato`s that taste awesome. Great job. I face labor issues that drive me crazy.

You absolutely can’t make a business plan that relies on hand labor. I tell other farmers I know never be dependent on the labor b/c then they are in control and you will lose. Always have your operation set up where the labor can tell that they are not in control and if they aren’t productive they won’t be employed.

Just found your channel and love it as I’m just starting produce myself and the way your talking about is the way I’ve been doin it for the last two years just had a question though and not being smart neither but what’s in the fertilizer box then just wondering

Never mind sorry I see what you meant now shoulda watched the whole video lol so you are puttin down fertilizer I got you I haven’t been I’ve been trying with no fertilizer but I see that’s a valuable option

Fertilizer is 100% necessary. On smaller scale organic fertilizers can be used, but they are not cost efficient if you have plans of making a profit on what you are growing.

Man, that’s some serious hog damage! And I’m sure that’s nothing. Back when I was still farming 555 was some good cotton! Now it won’t even compare to the variety’s these days. A mess of green beans sounds good now! 😂

Triple Nickel certainly set the standard for a while. I remember when they first said they were going to start phasing it out I was in disbelief. Up until that point nothing came close to it.
