Part 2 please One way to interpret this movie is it's about an assassin who lost his mojo because he keeps fucking up and acts contrary to his rules He says you need to be patient in the beginning, then he falls asleep by accident He's done 10,000 hours, but his heart rate is still >100 when he sees the target; probably doesn't get it below 60 or at least David Fincher doesn't show us. He's panicking when he's running away in the vespa, but really no one's looking for him. Even the song they choose "I am human and I need to be loved just like everyone else does"; he's just a dude capable of fucking up like the rest of us
@lucasgrey97944 ай бұрын
He was far more calm than the average person would be during the escape on the vespa. In fact, most spec ops would be less calm than he was.
@Daveyd3254 ай бұрын

@@Daveyd325I agree. He’s trying to sell us on his ideals of what it takes to do what he does. But some of the actions he takes are to the contrary. For instance, killing the one lady and making it look like an accident. And letting the tech guy live.

The American is underrated for sure, as long as you can get past the nonsensical gun crafting scenes. Definitely see what you mean though, both The American and The Killer are great vibe movies with fairly basic (and similar) stories, The Killer is just a better, more well-rounded movie overall imo.

I loved this movie. The comment I wish to make is that it is a common thing people think that just because you touch something you leave a print behind. I've taken a criminal forensic course before and of course it included 'dusting' for fingerprints. What we learned was that it is VERY possible to touch something and NOT leave a print behind. Our instructor said that if a person either has dry skin or their is no perspiration it will leave nothing behind. Typically though people will have some sort of fear of getting caught that tends to produce this perspiration and thus leave a print.

The second part will be hilarious. The sniper decides to go after one guy by clearing his house with a gun. And literally confronts the Ancient One inside a restaurant and somehow forces her to walk with him outside.

For the car bomb thing It’s a reference to car bombs during the troubles from the 1960’s - 1980’s. It’s essentially just making a serious issue of the time something trivial like a jagerbomb.

The funny thing about this movie is that the killer, despite ostentibly being super professional and skilled, fucks literally everything up, it's not even bad luck itself, the guy royally screws the pooch so many times that you actually wonder how he is still alive lol. Still, I enjoyed the movie, the original comic is better of course (the character in there is an actual professional who just has horrible luck) but the writing is just perfect, there is something about the aesthetics and the general mood that is just so captivating to me.
@CT25075 күн бұрын
What do you mean, he "fucks literally everything up"? He only fucks up the main shoot, and hits the escort instead. The rest of the movie are the sequence of events born out of that one mistake, which he resolves very well. Except perhaps loosing the element of surprise when he enters the first hired gunman's house. But that's about it.

Part 2 needs to be made. BTW, Fassbender said in an interview that he used a one-hand-shooting stance with pistols because he did not want the guy to have a military background look, more self-taught.
@CT25075 күн бұрын
Well, he didn't succeed with that part then. I thought he had a military background. His focus and patience. His skills with sniping. His meticulousness and attention to detail. His self-discipline and how he kept himself fit. His planning, tactics and how he kept a cool head under heavy pressure without letting the emotions take over. All very military like.

In terms of movie assassins, I wanna see your take on these two characters: 1) Jason Bourne 2) Vincent (from Collateral) Bourne seems a bit over-the-top, but plausible enough if the CIA trained a very talented candidate who was recruited from the military. Vincent, on the other hand, seems super-plausible as a highly trained contact killer. He's deadly, but through a series of unlucky circumstances, makes mistakes all throughout the movie. It makes him feel more human.

I can’t believe I get to answering the “tapping the magazine question”!!! The reason solders tap the magazines is it significantly reduces misfeeds. If you skip this step the tips of the bullets can drag on the magazine thus reducing the effectiveness of the follower and spring which negatively affects how the ammo cycles.

I would definitely love to see a part two. In the comic book, he has a lot of backwards morality, and is probably a sociopath. In this movie, he is definitely a jerk, but they added some humor and irony in the fact that his inner monologue is so disciplined, but he makes a lot of mistakes. Even in the sniper scene, he talks about lowering his heart rate, but then he plays a fast-paced song. You mentioned dumping the pistol at the airport. When he faces the brute, instead of climbing through the doggie door or some other method, he sets off the alarm. He could have literally waited till the guy was in the house for an hour or so and then set the beams on fire. The pro even points out that he could have handled her in a more nuanced way but chose to confront her face to face.

One of the other dumb things is later in the movie when he gets home and rushes to his house to confront the intruders. He pulls a Glock out of the glove compartment, then performs a press-check (to ensure a round is in the chamber), then proceeds to run towards the house and only when he's already in front of the house he cocks the gun - this would eject an already chambered round and leave him with 1 less round in case of a gun fight...

But now I realize that's stupid and he had already changed and he should have been disassembling that thing as he went. Slide in a trash can, mag in a sewer, barrel in the river etc. Lol I just accepted that it must have been for a purpose I didn't understand because the rest of the movie was so solid.
