Why do you need to spray it.? Just wondering.

The spray when cleaning helps get all the dirt and grime off. The set the oil on clean filter helps to filter air born contaminants, small particles, soot and other fine dirt.

are you not oiling the clean side as not to get the MAF sensor dirty? As i have been giving the clean side of my K&N filter a very light spray of oil.
