After Billie Joe has his breakdown at the Iheart Radio festival he came out and expressed his substance abuse with alcohol, and his moving forward with therapy. I think this album is all about how Billie wants to keep the old life he had of going crazy and starting things up and causing chaos, but he has to cope with being part of an ordinary world. In somewhere now he describes the pain of being part of a world he doesn’t like anymore. Going to therapy for substance abuse and living life normally is killing him. He then goes off in “Bang Bang” and “Revolution Radio” about the excitement of starting revolutions and shaping his life the way he wants to. He then spins off in “Still Breathing” where he describes how painful his life is going through his therapy, and withdrawal, and suicide, but that he’s still alive. He reasons with himself more in “Too Dumb to Die” and describes how he longs for his old life, and how he wants to kill himself, but knows that both of those desires are unreasonable and impossible if he wants to move foreword. It finally builds to “Forever Now” where Billie goes into full freak out mode. He doesn’t believe the normal life he’s living to be part of the good life. He wants to keep living the way he used to, with his revolutions, and loud mouthed opinions, and nights of drinking and drugs, but knows that’s not what life should be about. He is “standing at the edge of the world” which is really just another metaphor for his life. He wants to start a revolution, and be able to think nothing of the future and live like he used to, but that’s all in the past. Now he has to live in an ordinary world.

Long time ago there was a nice punkrock band. They called GREEN DAY. Many bands played this kind of music in the early 90' : Bad religion, Offspring, Rancid but the most important things were still to come. In 2004 the situation changed a lot. Green day recorded the awesome album "American Idiot" and from this time the have become one of the most important rock bands of all time. The have been increasing their possibilities since then. The songs like: Jesus of Suburbia, Homecoming, Boulevard of broken dreams, Whatsername, 21 guns and so more are showing their genius. They are becoming the legend. The new album Revolution Radio in my opinion is in line with American Idiot and 21-st century breakdown - all are rock masterpieces. And Forever now is one of the best rock songs ever, the same with Somewhere now and this connection between Somewhere Now and Forever Now - fantastic. Who was able to predict such genial and long (7-10 minutes) great punk rock songs - the are awesome. Green Day - do what you do until it hurts....
