Green Day invented the "I don't give a fuck"mentality & it was long before future generations even knew what it was. And they are the kind of pioneers that always will be impressive. Because it takes that certain something that most of us don't have. To take something that's not mainstream or never even heard of and make it popular with a loyal following. It takes not only talent but a huge amount of drive, courage & faith to accomplish. I remember watching one of their very early performances that wasn't being received very well & then viewed performances from the American Idiot Tour where they were selling out stadiums with a 65,000+ capacity. The view from the stage looking out was a wall of people that seemed to stretch for miles. The audiences remained on their feet for over 2 hours. I thought the only people that have to be as exhausted as the Billie Joe after that concert had to be every member of the audience because there never a moment of rest. They moshed, they slam danced, they sang along to every song with a roar that almost could drown out the bands equiptment. Like Billie Joe said at one live performance, its not just going to watch a band but instead its a gathering, its an experience because the audience & the band are joining & feeding off each others emotion & energy. I couldn't agree with him more. I think because of this dedicated connection that every fan or potential fan comes to know is largely why Green Day's appeal has gone on for decades & gains strength as it goes. To every member of Green Day,I speak for many when I say, Thank You for sharing your talent with the rest of us. Your music has & will continue to not only be what's on the soundtrack of our lives but it has enlightened us to the lack of humanity that goes on in the world & its given us a voice & motivation to make it a better place for us all.🌍💕🌍💕🌍💕
