Me and a really good friend of mine from high school bonded because of Green day, we ditched school a lot, discovered our shared love of weed and started a punk band. Us and our little group of friends ended up going our separate ways in life when we reached our 20's. I carried on playing in bands, while he joined the army for a while, he didn't pursue the music thing and I didn't hear from him for years after that. A couple of years ago, he walked into a bar I was working at and we caught up, When I come around came on the speakers and we reminisced about the times spent goofing off listening to Dookie. About a week after that I got a message from his mother telling me he had taken his own life, and that it'd mean a lot if I went to his funeral as he always talked about those years as some of his happiest. I haven't listened to Green day for years. But since then, this album sounds completely different and it now brings me to tears. Not communicating with him for years is always going to be one of my biggest regrets, if you have an old friend you haven't heard from in a while you should reach out to them, you could have a bigger impact than you realise. I don't know why I wrote this, I never normally comment on anything but it felt right to share for whatever reason.
@Newfish036Ай бұрын
i agree..when we are young we do a lot of mistakes and aafter that sometimes we cant correct them.i thinking about that these days.your message is to try to think and dont do these mistakes again and we try to correct some..the days are running..we must live ethical and we must think.. i have a suggestion for us..calisthenics.which means in greek, beauty (cali-kalos) and strong in mind(sthenics-sthenos)..from a guy in greece..sorry for my english..be strong

Well the cool part is that I watched a video of them performing this song from this year for an Amazon music festival and the mind blowing part of it all they still vocally sound almost almost identical to the original studio recording from 30 years ago! 30YEARS LATER AND THEY STILL SOUND AMAZING THE BAND IS STILL TOGETHER AND GOING STRONG AND HAVE CONTINUED TO RELEASE NEW ALBUMS TO THIS DAY. Now how many bands can you count started in the 80s and are still all alive or haven’t died of any overdoses well, still managing to make new albums to this day that only add to their growing list of greatest hits. Not really, any that I can think of at the very least or the very least, not that I can think of that still have all the band members that are still alive at the very least that are still managing to make new albums that stay true to their sound And manage to be . there truly isn’t any band quite like Green Day and I really feel like modern bands should learn a few things from them to last as long as they have and are still continuing to last. here’s to many more years of Green Day. I salute them for continuing to last as long as they have and staying up with the times and still managing to pump out new songs, what legends.

im 40 so im a Dookie kid and i saw Billie perform live for the first time in my life last month in my hometown. Dude is in his 50's and he still has loads of energy. Dude was running around like a madman on stage, engaging with the crowd, bringing fans on stage. You would think after 30+ years of touring that dude would lose passion and calm down a little bit. it was the exact opposite. Billie LOVES to perform, hes like a fish in water when hes on stage.

Isn`t it time to start seeking out all of that knowledge, we all, still missing? kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqXZmqSsm7l1isk you and me, we SHALL BE JUDGED. Therefore, let me ask a little: which ones your actions and thoughts are? - evil or good? kzbin.info/aero/PLHYOKu9d9bz7B0iL4ZleIQYscvdaZcvWF 1776 - 2022 = 246 1776 - 2076 = 300 We have lived under the freemasons tryanny, oh perdon, i mean, under their rulership close to 300 years. Sadly much anough to forget all, that was before „they” took everything under their control and keep it that way, that long. 246 years of lifetimes, under the „power” of evil. And we dream of a good lives to live. How come we can do it under the rulership of the wicked? !go and find a job! = !go and find a enslavement!. And we, humans, find it a problem, that we were slaves generations back. The reasons it ain´t a problem now? For we, humans, being slaves, haven`t changed. WE ARE ALL STILL SLAVES! This haven´t changed. Now, can you, a reader of my writtings can you explain: why are we still slaves?, when the matter of fact, it is already proven, that EVERLASTING IS FREE: - WATER, - FOOD, - ELECTRICITY, - LAND, - AIR. Who find it`s un-benefits them, if we are truly FREED? - freemasons. SLAVES we are and will remain, until the HUNGER FOR THE MISSING KNOWLEDGE is found in all of us. Do we even know how to live, BEING FREE? In the days of NOAH, only 8 souls, were left to live, out from millinons. Yet, we, nowdays won`t even function unless someone form older generations tells us what to do. Why is things that way, if we are all free and highly educated? Ecclesiastes 4:1 | View whole chapter | See verse in context So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter. John 14:16 | View whole chapter | See verse in context And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Lamentations 1:9 | View whole chapter | See verse in context Her filthiness is in her skirts; she remembereth not her last end; therefore she came down wonderfully: she had no comforter. O LORD, behold my affliction: for the enemy hath magnified himself. John 15:26 | View whole chapter | See verse in context But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: Lamentations 1:16 | View whole chapter | See verse in context For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed. John 14:26 | View whole chapter | See verse in context But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 16:7 | View whole chapter | See verse in context Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. Let me be cut of this earth imminently if i even dare to reject CHRIST. I may and surly shall have trials and times that i just cant go anymore, i may and sadly surly shall backslide again and again, still as long as i breath, i get up and keep on going. Cause, if i dare to give up so easily, i then surly DIE and not just once, but twice. Let my name be found.......and let me be strong and "crazy" enough to keep the faith until the end. The fear of GOD should be found in me. Have the FEAR OF GOD in you and be sure these words from GOD "depart for me, i never new you" , you shall never hear. May your name also be found .......

People saying "oh I've liked this band/ music genre since who gives a fuck" need to realize... this is the internet where people come to like, dislike, bitch about, or start fights with strangers. Your opinions matters( to yourself! And that's all that matters, right?) but if you're negitive, your opinions don't mean a motherfucking thing. So don't just comment to one-up someone or to shove your opinions in someone elses face saying'here forget about what you like here's a list of thing I like and dislike, Now CARE!' Because again this is the internet and no one gives a thought. ~Your Friend Ashlynn

Some people are negative (like, uh...Me...). Just the way they are. I agree with you, the whole I've been listening to stuff since I was 30 seconds old stuff is just crap (because, if you listened to loud rock music when you were just out of the womb, some stupid shit must be going on in the brains of your doctor (rock music is good but, you don't wanna make it cry more)). Your band choices are awesome, by the way.

Can't imagine what it's like discovering this era as a teen now. I was 12 when this record came out and together with Offspring's Smash, Weezer's Blue Album and Nirvana's Unplugged in New York it was the soundtrack of sixth grade. I still return to all these albums every once in a while, and relive my tee age angst.

Grew up at the jersey shore where my parents and their friends went out to listen to cover bands who played in the summer nightly all these kinds of songs. Ofcourse I was the only kid out of them and all their friends. Always remember them pre game to these songs when I was little and watching beavis and butthead with their friends before they went out lol. 90s was truly the last great decade. @roisinmc744219 күн бұрын
@@Basic079 it was both cassettes and cds then. cds were starting to really take over but cars still had cassette players in them and stereos in our houses had CD players and cassette players on them and of course we had vinyl too but it was less popular at that time. When out and about in the early mid 90s it was a walkman I listened to which was cassettes and then in the later 90's I replaced that with a personal CD player I carried around. So really it was mixture of both we used in the mid 90s. I was really into grunge! Yeah Mtv was how we saw music videos but I didn't have it in rural Northern Ireland!

It was great watching them mature as a group and to grow up with them in a remote way. Glad to see they didn’t just burn out like the trend is for ‘punk’ bands, and they continued to write meaningful music. That depth is lost when pigeonholing bands in to genres, and stupid, childish comments about ‘they’re not punk’ get written on the internet. Greenway was able to grow (up), and make it out of their own adolescence, and I hope the same for our children.

**~Lyircs~** Verse 1] I heard you crying loud All the way across town You've been searching for that someone And it's me out on the prowl As you sit around feeling sorry for yourself [Verse 2] Well, don't get lonely now And dry your whining eyes I'm just roamin' for the moment Sleazin' my backyard, so don't get So uptight, you've been thinking about ditching me [Chorus] No time to search the world around ‘Cause you know where I'll be found When I come around [Verse 3] I heard it all before So don't knock down my door I'm a loser and a user So I don't need no accuser To try and slag me down Because I know you're right [Verse 4] So go do what you like Make sure you do it wise You may find out that your self-doubt Means nothing was ever there You can't go forcing something if it's just not right [Chorus] No time to search the world around ‘Cause you know where I'll be found When I come around [Outro] No time to search the world around ‘Cause you know where I'll be found When I come around When I come around When I come around When I come around

My life is incomplete without Greenday. Their music is therapeutic to my soul.

I never imagined I would see this in high resolution, it looks AMAZING, I can't wait to see what the videos for "Welcome To Paradise" and "Basket Case" will be like too. Thanks Green Day

I was 9 years old and saw this on MTV. I asked my dad to buy the CD and he never questioned why I wanted the CD or the music itself just as long as I enjoyed it.
