Well you are in the middle of the one of the most dangerous areas in the world. I mean it’s hot, humid and very wet but it’s not like if you run through a river or through plants where leeches live you wouldn’t get leeches. Course you would. It’s like running through a cave with spiders webs and not expect spider to at least get on you.
@sirrivet95574 жыл бұрын
Yeah the way to avoid that would be by not constantly walking through thick brush and stick on the trail. And in real life whenever you’ve been hiking through thick brush of any kind once you get out you ALWAYS check for ticks and leeches.

The main difference and selling point for me is that this game is very realistic and surviving is your main goal with complex mechanics. Other "survival" games often throw in zombies, monsters or PvP making it more combat oriented while simplifying survival. That is the key focus of this game and the reviewer missed it completely. It is really not like Forest. Also the optimalization is great - I have laptop with i7 7th gen, GeForce 1050 Ti, 16GB RAM and it runs smooth on ultra.

Solid review- I played through the story and loved every moment of it. Unlike The Forest, there's always a fear of the unknown...like those pesky rattlesnakes. You have to survive when literally everything is trying to kill you. My only gripe about Green Hell is the building. I wish there was more you could do. I'm doing a survival playthrough now and going to all locations to gather blueprints to build, but it just feels like they could've added more- that's one thing about The Forest i like more than Green Hell.

Thanks for a great review. I really enjoyed the way you tie things together as a logical whole, and that you don't leave important game elements un-discussed. I'm glad I found your channel and look forward to more gaming material. ............................. A thought hit me as I watched your review and heard you describe one of the things in the game that you found annoying: You have to check your arms and legs(1*) for leeches, because if you don't you'll go insane from some effect caused by their bites (so I assume, anyway). The thought that came to mind was this: It doesn't matter if you keep checking, because if you don't go insane from leech bites, you'll go insane from the excessive checking your arms and legs and pulling the leeches off, every 30 sec.s or so. I mean, that would drive anybody insane, wouldn't it? And strictly speaking, I'm not even kidding here. It _would_ literally drive at least a number of people insane if they suddenly found themselves in a situation that demanded such a behavior from them. ............................. (1*) - ...but for some unknown reason, it doesn't make any difference to your health or sense of well being if your face, head, torso, and crotch are over sown with leeches. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit: Correcting the issue of doubling and tripling indentations between lines and paragraphs that have been persistently continuing for several months, now. (I swear it'll drive me mad if KZbin/Google doesn't fix this issue soon). .

I always choose custom difficulty so i can turn the leeches off. Same with the tribals because they keep destroying my bases after i have spent all the resources in the area - although this makes the game boring, so i REALLY wish they would add the option to turn off base attacks... An option is to only build the bases in areas where the tribals dont go - like the "Anaconda island" and the "Haven" place (south of where you start out, with the tribal village with the hammocks. 45W 32S). But i like to have bases all over the map, so building in just a few select safe places is very limiting...

Some people: "I hate hand-holding in video games". Also these people: "I hate this game. I have no idea what to do" Some people: "I like my games hardcore" Also these people: "This game is too hardcore". I've found a lot of people get swayed by key-words and don't really know what they actually like. Like saying "this game is for people that want a hardcore survival experience". I think a lot of people think that's what they want, then they play it and realise they don't like that at all. Same with the hand-holding. I can't imagine many folk want to admit to themselves that they like to have their hand-held in a game. So I'd probably call it something else. Personally, I thought this game was excellent and I was pretty sad when it was finished. Especially considering how I said to my mate "It feels like we're about half-way through the game (in terms of how the story was going), only to then find we had 30 minutes of game left before we were finished LOL!

I really like survival mode, with the custom difficulty settings, so i can make it into a more authentic survival game, without the combat stuff, which i personally dont see why is ALWAYS mixed into survival games. If it is not against humans or zombies, then its combat against animals. Hunting and fishing belongs in survival games, but animals attacking on a regular basis, is not what i personally seek from a good SURVIVAL game... Also nice to be able to turn off leeches. As for the story mode, it kinda sucks, IMO... Makes me think Creepy Jar is a bunch of acid heads, who try to promote psychedelics as a way to communicate with spirits. I know from personal experience that it can do this - but the Average Joe is like a newborn who have no clue about how to deal with these beings... Many psychedelics can trigger a "spiritual awakening" (which usually last your entire life), and people who go through this often have some REALLY BAD experiences with such beings... Especially if they awakened through psychedelics, which will open the higher chakras "prematurely" - which can be TERRIFYING, to say the least... Some people even kill themselves... So i feel that it is pretty irresponsible by Creepy Jar to push peoples buttons, and steer them into this topic. For SOME people, this game may be that thing that makes them interested in these substances, and then they go searching around in psychedelic forums online... They may hear that it can open the third eye - but when i was into these things, i never heard about all the problems associated with this... People who "awaken" will usually stop using these things (at first, since they dont need them anymore), and then they probably stop participating in the psychedelic forums on the internet, so almost everything you find in those forums are written by people who have no clue about the awakening... At least i had no idea that stuff could happen when i was wildly interested in it 8 years ago, and spent a LOT of my time on such forums... So if anyone reads this, and still want to mess around with psychedelics, then i suggest they join some "Kundalini" FB group or something, and ask those people just HOW life-changing and challenging and potentially TERRIFYING it can be. It is NEVER a "walk in the park"... Its not something you just "try out", because once you awaken, you have awakened, and there is basically "no going back". It is also not something you do for fun... Chances are you will NOT like it at all - but it will just go ON and ON and ON and ON... Every f***in day... I would not do this for all the money in the world...

How many hours of gameplay would you say there is? That maybe something to add to your review videos. A rough estimate on your overall gameplay time also noting if you played casually, somewhat like a completionist, ETC. My main thing is game length and replayability. Lets say theres a $60 game. For me, if there's not at least 30+ hours of gameplay, I wont buy it usually. Obvious there's some outlier. But those are usually triple A game studios releasing things I've been following for years.

Once you see them you get the recipe for them. But to me it doesn’t make sense why I would want to go build a base of my own when there’s this giant drug lab sitting there that has just about everything I need to survive. It’s like surviving in your back yard or something. The wounds and problems you get is very annoying and most of your time is spent trying to deal with your health. Idk. This game just wasn’t for me.

I found the increasing number of mutants spawning or specifically being hunted after a certain amount if time being annoying rather than challenging. I dont mind enemies but I rather encounter them either by chance while exploring or by hunting them not because the AI is sending them your way as if you ordered them through UPS

Um it wasn't to bad for me personally. They definitely would harass me from time to time, but I also made sure I camped far away from them.

After playing about 5 hrs on normal mode I encountered 2 leopards and had no native attacks. Some games though I've had back to back encounters with leopards and natives. I'd say on normal mode expect to be attacked by a wild animal or native about once every 1-2 hours starting out. After playing for a while the spawn rate of hostile enemies seems to increase.

played standard deep looks bright&cool but no real dangers in game besides bosses and building things is lame then got the forest lot more intense that SD but gets very hard to hunt solo after so many days as cannibals are everywhere but has some cool building options, looking at green hell it looks in between SD&forrest ? just a guess as not played green hell, if forest would of allowed creation mode then option to switch into different game mode like say minecraft does then think would b complete with the forest, toying with idea of getting greenhell but something saying i might end up been disappointed?

Green hell offers you survival and different mechanics. Far Cry primal offers you towers and outposts.

was too hard to get into and the crafting system and notebook lookup was way too anoying and timeconsuming, i didnt get veryf ar b4 i gave up. it was too ahrd on the starvation and water and then i got killed by tribemen b4 i had done much. and it was even on the easiest setting withoutn being on creative mode. Looks great otherwise tho, but i lvoe crafting, and that system is too anoying and takes too long for each thing want to make, so no ty from me.

Its so rushed, time passes to quickly and your character is so weak. There's like 5 min in day and you can starve to death in 2. You can do alot in a day in real life. You can do like 5 things in 1 day game. And you need to do 50 to survive.

No thanks. I can't play a game where I spend more time monitoring the type of foods I eat than I do in real life.
@iTz_GSWAG4 жыл бұрын
That makes no sense. When your in an unfamiliar rainforest monitoring the foods you eat is very important. A lot of foods can be poisonous or gone bad. What a stupid comment
@jjlime22314 жыл бұрын
@@iTz_GSWAG Def not a stupid comment. I completely agree with him. You have to constantly monitor every single type of food and what you're getting from them 24/7. And it's unrealistic how much you have to do this. Also it's his opinion. What give you the right to call him stupid for having one that you don't agree with. That's more stupid to me, just sayin

any of you feel like this game is too similar to the gameplay of "the forest"?
@ladybug65254 жыл бұрын
Does the forest have an in-depth mechanic revolving around various nutrients which are individually replenished by specific foods which must be identified yourself via consumption and observing the effects? No. No, it doesn't. The Forest has mutants and cannibals and crap and that's great if you're into that but that's not Green Hell.
