FINALLY someone has retconned Predator. Never liked their inclusion as love’s emotional entity, especially since they were framed like the other entities at the time as the epitome of their respective emotion. I really like the idea of it as a parasite to this specific emotion. Not just because it’s the most DC has done to explore the concept of these entities in years, but because I can see this revelation being used as a springboard to explore other emotions in a more nuanced way or even having emotional entities that represent only a *facet* of that particular emotion. It makes me really excited for Carol’s inclusion in the JL and I can’t wait to see what Mark Waid might do with the lanterns.

I find it strange that John didn’t do anything in this “event” despite being connected to multiple plot points throughout the arc (the source lantern, varron, and the Darkstar ring). The only plot relevant thing he does it lose the Darkstar ring in the first 4 pages of the civil corps special.

I’ll be honest, I really didn't like this issue at first. I thought it was horribly rushed and constantly tripped over itself trying to wrap up plot threads from a story that probably had another half a year of content. But when I focused on that, I started to understand how lucky this book was. The All-In initiative was supposed to launch all the books into new story arcs, but GL wasn’t in a good place to do that. So instead, it got a special one-shot and three extra issues to wrap things up. I’m still not very happy about how it turned out, but I’m willing to give it a pass.

maybe the guardians were using the source lantern to become simple maltusians again since the universe has proven that their better off without the guardians influence, of course since the process was interrupted they'll proobly still have some power but definitely be a lot less powerful

I don't get why Adams threw in Razer AND DID NOTHING FOR HIM. Like the dude has the potential to weild a green ring and MAYBE be like another Kyle and become a WL. Also why did Razer get drawn like crap for???

I wasn't a huge fan of this storyline, but the setup for next has me intrigued and I am kinda glad the Predator retcon happened. Its one aspect of Johns GL run I found weird as Love shouldn't be possessive. I actually wouldn't mind a storyline involving the various Corps confronting their entities as sorta a soft reboot that allows a more nuanced exploration of the various emotional spectrum corps.

Love shouldn’t be but can be possessive. It’s more a philosophical debate rather than a comic one but I get the point. History has shown where too much love of one individual borders into the psychotic perhaps and is that the general rule or point of the emotion? No it’s not but can be tipped that way depending upon the individual but it shouldn’t probably represent love as a whole, no

I agree, and I think the Predator kind of reflects the fact that the Zamarons were always wrong about love. Their intentions were never pure, they embraced love out of spite...they were appalled at the Guardians trying to police the universe by rejecting emotion, so they picked an emotion and tried using it to undermine the Guardians and prove them wrong. But with the Zamarons gone (as far as we know), and Carol being the last Star Sapphire standing (as far as we know), they can move away from all of that.
