Operation Gatling, October 1978, the destruction of ZIPRA guerrilla training camps in Zambia, about 1500 guerrillas death and other 1500 wounded, ZIPRA and its political leadership of ZAPU became irrelevant during the rest of the Zimbabwean insurgency. In exchange the Rhodesian security forces suffered four casualties including one fatality. A real masterclass in commando warfare and counterinsurgency operations.
