Isn't it funny. We don't need proof that this is him. When you have this mans playing in your heart you KNOW when it's him your hearing. Every note, every hammer on, tremelo and string bend is Peter and it's a most beautiful thing. Nobody, in my opinion anyway, put so much heart and soul, and so much of himself into his playing. You can hear it here, every note is Peter. To me, this man is a guitar God. As good as the others are, and many of them are incredible players, there can be only one master, and here he is in all his glory ladies and gentlemen, Peter Green at his very best.

John C AGREED! You know, Peter's singing, like B.B.King, was so important in his overall approach to his music! His voice complemented his Guitar playing. Green's voice is so haunting and you just know he means every word he sings! There's something about Peter Allen Green that just haunts me and I believe it was his honesty in what he sang and played!

I saw his debut with Fleetwood Mac at Windsor in ;67. It was a hell of a weekend that Cream closed on the Sunday Night! After that I saw him more times than I care to remember up until he quit! A Decade ago I went to see Peter Greenbaum at Ipswich........... Trust me his comeback shouldn't have happened! I walked out half way through the third number...Black Magic Woman, with Nigel Watson playing the solo he'd learnt note for note from the record! Meanwhile PG stood in the background strumming away. It was absurd! He looked like he'd rather be anywhere else but on stage! It was altogether a very stressing experience!

Regarding the Green & Clapton issue below, although the two sound similar, this is absolutely, positively, no doubt in my mind, Peter Green here. Just like with Clapton or any other guitar player, everyone has their own "voice". I've been listening to these two (and playing guitar) since the early 60's. I can tell who is who by the nuances in phrasing, timing, they way they "speak" etc. For ex, when your wife, girl friend or kid calls you they don't have to say hey its so and so here... no. You just automatically know their voice. You know the nuances, phrasing, tone, and their "isms" etc. Same with guitar and every other form of music. Killer cut by the way. Thanks all.

This gig was in 1967 and Peter was born in 1946.

The money direction. Peter didn't care about fame.

I always thought it was an acid trip Peter took at a house party (State side ?) and he stayed up after everyone went to sleep, playing the 1st Santana album over and over. All of a sudden, he has a vision of an angel with a starving child from Biafra, asking for help. Next morning, Peter and the band was for it except for Mick. Peter quit but since they were mid tour finished it. One listens to Shrine '69 then The Boston Tea Party and hears almost two different bands. Peter just wanted to jam like The Grateful Dead. Part of him staying. I prefer the former. All this from a guitar mag interview. early '00.

@@duaneberry3298 Peter wanted to give all money the band made away. If i was his bandmate i would've told him to fuck off too.
