I've had the Green Mountain Grill now for 6 years no problems until here recently heating element won't heat up just like in this video I still like my grill look forward to getting it to work again

I created this video to show the Green Mountain support what was happening. Today is the first time I revisited this video. Astonished to see it has over 7K in views. Yes the igniter rod was bad. Happened about 6 months after purchase. Green Mountain did send me a new one, but it was not a easy swap to make. Sold grill last summer.

It’s literally the easiest thing to swap out. Takes 3 minutes.

@@adriandeere847 I’m not trying to out manly you here, but if your grill is 10 years old and well used like mine is, the metal can be slightly warped from constant heating and cooling. Making it more difficult to remove. Congrats on finally letting your boyfriend take a break from cooking for once.

Put oil on a crumbled up paper towel and light it. It will get you by until you get the igniter replaced.

Yep same thing happened with mine after having the grill for 4 days. They sent me a new igniter changed it out. The one that came with the unit was burned up. The wires going to it were almost gone. I just now changed it out and it works however I will be keeping a close eye on it. I sure wouldn't like to manually ignite the pellets every time I want to grill.

Did you end up swapping the igniter out and did that fixing your grill? Not a fuse issue or any other electrical problem? I got the same issue with mine....

I had the same issue they sent me a free ignitor rod. While I was waiting I just started the pellets on fire with a torch.

Seems to me that would be a hassle trying to night it with a torch and taking a meat off if it's not cooked and put it in the back on and I don't know it's just sounds like a hassle.

So I have gone through two replacements, and now they are sending me a ceramic (newest version) for free. Let’s see if that fixes this problem I have had for 6 months! Great customer service, I just think they have had quality control pains. Any issue I have had their teams customer service is on-it quick. So no complaints there. Fingers crossed my issues will be solved.

Looks like the igniter is shot. Mine does the same. A few cycles will usually start it eventually but the fix is a new igniter.

I've only cooked about 20 hours and mine seems out shit....

@@zenjamin6262 I think it has a lot to do with the heat that you cook at. Mine lasted until I did some high-heat cooking.

@@tomb70 That's interesting that you said that. I cooked hamburger on mine at 450 degrees a couple weeks ago and today did a pulled pork... and this happened to me too. The igniter seems shot.

@@Rudytube580 you know what I want to say that happened to mine. I did lamb at 200° and then tried to reverse sear at like 400°. It never worked right after that. This will be my second replacement. They are saying that the new ceramic one won’t have any more issues... let’s see.

Same. Swapped my heating element and still doesn't work. I tested continuity on the element and it seems fine. Going to see if I am getting power from the grill side tonight.

I just replaced mine and it didn't fix my problem as well, by any chance where you getting an error code of "FAL" ? Mine did and I found that it's due to a bad ignitor.. obviously not haha thanks

mine lites but after all stages goes to 150 and stays, i run temp. to 300 it goes up but grate is only 205 any ideas please.

It's probably a bad thermal sensor. Or the sensor just needs cleaned.

Only used mine 15-20 times and had to replace multiple parts. These grill are pieces of crap. Gotta go to traeger now.
